My VISS application detected 8 trojans.  Does VISS remove these trojans completely?

A quick bing search indicates that Macafee powers VISS. I personlly have little fatih in Macafee products. There are much better free solutions  available such as Microsoft Security Essentials in conjunction with the fee version of Malwarebytes.

At the very least run an online scan such as http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner?ref=AFC-CJ&attr=3640576

If you are running windows clear all restore points. If you have a recent backup image of your machine PRIOR to the issue you may want to do a full system restore from image.

Please let us know some details about your computer such as the operating system, are updates to the OS done regularly, etc.

It should be able to remove them if it is detecting them. Once removed though, I would strongly suggest running MalwareBytes and SUPERAntiSpyware on the system:

http://superantispyware.com

They often clean up the rest that McAfee doesn't detect.
