A month without Internet access?

I was having serious problems with the speed on my DSL. I reported the problem initially around the 10th,  and then a few days later, they told me they fixed it my capping my speed at a lower rate than I've had for the past couple of years. I noticed it was still having issues, so on the 15th I told them still wasn't fixed. Then about 40 minutes after I got off the phone, my DSL went completely out. I called them again and they said it would take 24-48 hours to fix. Then I went online at a friend's house and the help ticket said the 19th. The 19th came and went and nothing. I tried calling the night of the 19th, and they said it had gone to "order status" ( I wasn't really clear on what this means) and now the repair date was September 13th and there was nothing they could do to schedule an earlier fix date. I"m glad I called when I did, as I don't know if I would have been contacted So, I'm looking at a month without the Internet.

 Is there anything else I can do on my end? I work from home, and my wife is a nurse and needs to gets access to her emails from work.  I've tried restarting the router and that doesn't work. If there was some kind of troubleshooting I could do from my end to determine whether it's a problem witrh my router or my line maybe I could tell someone at the dispatch center and that would help.

Considering the situation on what has happened here, you'll probably have to wait it out unfortunately, until the backlog of work created by the most recent strike is lessened. Wish I could offer up something better to say.

I am in a similiar situation. My internet went out completely on August 7th. I called and was immediately connected again. The next morning I was unable to connect to the internet and have not been able to connect since, so I am going on a month with not internet connection. I received a bill two days ago for payment, but I do not feel that I should pay it. I have been trying to call and get help, but the call keeps timing out after you are on hold for long periods of time. I have a life and a job and cannot sit around holding on a phone to get my internet back connected.

Can you help me with this issue. My son is a dual credit college student and we need the computer and internet for his school work.This seems to be the only way that maybe I can get a response on this issue.

Okay Doug. I clicked on the link and was able to chat with a internet support representative until he asked me to restart my modem. I did that and now I still have no internet. I gave him my contact phone number and figured once we got disconnected that he would call me back, but that did not happen.

Still without internet and it is September 6, 2011! How can I download the Support specialist file to my computer if I cannot access the internet on my computer?

I need help now, not in a few weeks.
