Connecting my westell to my linksys router and enlabeling xbox live

Hello, well I have this problem, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. I have a 6100g modem/router from Verizon that's routed bridged to my linksys wrtu54g-tm. I seem to get lucky on opening my Nat for xbox live but when I do it only last for about a day or two, then goes back to moderate Nat, why I don't know. It ends up taking about a week or two to get it back open for the next day or two.  I go in my modems gateway IP and forward the ports to my xbox's IP address. But its connected to my linksys router witch then has dhcp auto address to whatever devices I connect it with. But always end up having to set up static IP addresses to my devices just so my network would read them correctly & give internet accuse.

not sure on what to do now. I tried calling Verizon on helping with this issue, but the just want to change me like 50 80 buck just for an hour to adjust  my settings. Anyone got some bright ideas I could try.

I know that verizon tells you to use routed bridge mode if you have your own RJ-45 WAN port router.

However, that is not true.

I point you to http://www.dslreports.com/faq/13600

Which applies to

Westell 2200, 6100, 6100F, 327W, and 7500 models

If you have any questions, please ask.

Once in your Linksys wrtu54g-tm.at Status -> Router one of the IP Address in there is the same IP Address that is at http://ipv4.whatismyv6.com/ - please report back that fact. Then you will be told what to do...

Well I tired that and all I get is my internet connection in left pending and now I tired reconnecting my router to my modem back to the way it was, it doesn't connect to my modem. Have to connect straight to my modem.

Your Linksys has a RJ-45 WAN port.

That RJ-45 WAN port might have other names:

For example. The Internet Port. To modem port.

Is the WAN/Internet / To modem port (or what ever it is called) connected to the LAN port of your Westell?

Re: Connecting my westell to my linksys router and enlabeling xbox live

yes it is, and i finilly got my router to read my modem but i had to use a static ip configuration.  anyways i'm changing my isp to  time warner cable.  they are coming monday to hook up my service. and enough of verizon. i was paying $50.00 for a 3.0 to 1.1Mbps  whitch is really low for gaming and multi users steaming netflix videos, and  internet surfing.
