DSL upload-download way down

Something overnight on the 27 has caused my DSL slow down - Spent 1.5 ours on voice tech as the speed is to slow for in-Agent stream,  How long does it take to get someone up a pole and tighten/reconnect my wires.  This happened the past Spring guy was on the pole for less than three minutes! It took 9 days.... Do not suggest FIOS as Verizon will not be offering it  in the City of Alexandria .... not happy!

I have had the same problem, also in Alexandria, so it may not be your wires. Support said there was an outage that had begun the morning of October 1, but my problem dates back to around the 27th too. The CNET bandwidth test gives results from 4-100 kbps -- it's basically unusable. No useful response from Verizon yet, and certainly no fix.

Similar problems here in Silver Spring since last night. (Oct 2, 2010)

I've included the year -- from what I've read and experienced about Verizon service it may be pertinent before this is fixed.
