Do I need to re-load any Verizon software?

Here is my situation.  We have a real old home PC and I plan to wipe the hard drive clean and re-load our Windows XP software. Just wondered if anyone here can tell me if I will need to re-load any software that Verizon normally would send me as if I started from Day one?    We presently have the DSL service.  I seem to remember a CD they sent us when we first signed up over a year ago.

As long as you don't want to use any Verizon supplied software, like Home Agent, you don't need it. Windows XP will run on a DSL or FiOS connection just fine without any downloaded Verizon Software.

You do have to make sure that you have a driver for the ethernet device on your PC, but that doesn't come from Verizon.

Thank you jmw 1950 for your response.  I seem to remember having to load one CD from verizon when I first set up the Internet account.  I assuem you are saying that once it is set up, I won't have to do that again.
