Home internet service keeps dropping........

Why does my home internet service continually drop? I have to reset my modem about 5 times an hour. Is this normal? When I lived in San Diego, I had ATT internet, and barely ever had to reset the modem due to service outages.

 

This is extremely frustrating for me as I have assignments due online that I cannot upload because my internet keeps dropping! Please help!

 

Oh, and I know that it isn't my computer because the same thing happens when I use netflix through my Wii.

 

I have a verizon branded wireless modem model 7500, manufactured by westell corp.

If running the blue firmware, go to http://192.168.1.1/ . Choose Troubleshooting, and then click Transceiver Statistics.

If using Verizon-branded firmware (should be Red and Black), go to System Monitoring, Advanced Monitors, and then choose Transceiver statistics. Post up the information you see on that page. If you are prompted for a Username and Password, try one of the following:

admin/password
admin/password1
admin/admin
admin/admin1
Your Verizon username/password
