Media Streaming (Buffering)

I need a fix to keep media streaming from starting and stopping. I do not have Fios in my area. I am running High Speed Internet (DSL) on Windows 7. Help!

Please tell us what media you're trying to stream, and also tell us the speed your modem shows when you visit http://192.168.1.1/

I do not have a router. I have a Westell 6100 I am not running a network. I am trying to stream abc news.

Alrighty. Visit http://192.168.1.1/ and tell me what speed the modem is reporting on the main page. Additionally, visit http://www.measurementlab.net/measurement-lab-tools#tool1 OR use http://www.speedtest.net/ and perform a speed test.
