Need a phone account for DSL

Just signed up for high speed DSL and when I did the online ordering, I chose no phone. I am setting up the router and cannot get on. Do I need to have a base phone line account underneath my DSL account?

You do not need phone service to get DSL working or for that matter, activated. What are you having issues with while trying to get the service set up? Is the DSL modem's DSL light or Internet Light flashing or out? Are you able to run the activation wizard but it's failing at a certain point?
