Random Disconnections, Slow Connections, Internet won't work for days....

My internet will randomly disconnect, sometimes it will work for a few hours, sometimes it will work for 2 minutes. For the past 2 days it's harldy worked at all. Sometimes it will connect, but be VERY slow. I have tried restarting the router and computer properly. Sometimes this works, sometimes it does not. I have tried calling customer service but I am always on hold for 15 minutes and then the person who answers either can't udnerstand me or I can't understand them. How do I fix this?
