I have some web cameras on my network using a Westell 327W router. The public ip keeps changing so I cannot see the cameras from a remote location. I have set up a dyndns account which I am told will allow me to send the current ip address from the router. I do not know how to send that address using the modem. There is normally no computer on the network - just the three cameras and the router. Am not very knowledgeable about this so please be basic with any help. Thanks.

#1 Go to http://www22.verizon.com/residentialhelp/highspeed/networking/setup/questionsthree/99175.htm
#2 While I know that you said you have the Westell 327w, I am just wondering..
Are you using the White and Blue Firmware or the Red and Black Firmware?
a) White and Blue Firmware manual at
b) Red and Black Firmwre manual at

If using Verizon-branded firmware (should be Red and Black), go to System Monitoring, Advanced Monitors, and then choose Transceiver statistics. Post up the information you see on that page. If you are prompted for a Username and Password, try one of the following:
admin/password
admin/password1
admin/admin
admin/admin1
Your Verizon username/password

Hi,
Thanks for the manual addresses - have been through the manual. Is not written to help someone who isn't certain how to proceed. I still do not see what to set or even if the router will send the changed public ip to the dyndns.com site.
Am needing baby steps to get this solved.
Thanks.

Additinal reply.
It looked to me that both links to the manuals ended up with the same download.
Thanks.

Do you have access to a NID by any chance? If so, can you plug your modem into the test jack found inside of it and post up the new statistics you get there?

Sorry for the slow response.
Verizon was out yesterday and checked the line. Said they found a bridged connection and fixed it . Here are new transceiver stats:
DSL Speed (Kbits/Sec)
3360
800
Margin (dB)
27.5
9.0
Line Attenuation (dB)
33.0
17.0
Transmit Power (dBm)
19.6
11.8
I can't do anything with the modem except plug it in where it is.
Still would like to find a way for the modem to send the updated IP even if it is just to me at a remote location.
Thanks

Ok, odd.
Let us try it a little bit different.
Do the screen(s) of your modem combo look something like:
a) http://screenshots.portforward.com/Westell/A90-750015-07/index.htm
b) OR http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Westell/Westell6100/Gadspot_IP_Camera.htm
?
