There is a possibility that they may be putting lines for fios in the area. That maybe the reason it is taking a long time for the repairs to be done. If all the copper lines are in poor condition, then it maybe hard for a tech to find a good working pair to use to restore just phone service. It is easier to get phone service working then DSL as DSL requires more signal from the copper line to even work. So again call tech support to have them work the issue out. It may need a tech out to start the process going to get it to work. You maybe able to have support test your address to see if you can get FIOS. FIOS would be better then the DSL. It would eliminate the issues you are having with a DSL type service and the speeds would be way faster.
