"PPP is down"

For a couple of weeks now, I've been losing connectivitity intermittently. I then log into the Westell 327W to see what's going on, and it tells me "PPP is down".

Could the 327W be dying or is this a VZ network problem?

There's been some reports over at DSL Reports of DSL problems occurring throughout New Jersey. If you can, log into your Westell 327w at http://192.168.1.1/ , and post up the Connection Log or Pastebin it. Depending on the firmware it's running, it can be found in specific places.

If runnning Blue Westell firmware, you can find it under Troubleshooting > System Log. If running the Red and Black Verizon firmware, you can find it under System Monitoring > Advanced Monitors > System Logging.

If you are prompted for a Username and/or password, try one of the following:

admin/password
admin/password1
admin/admin

Your Verizon Username and Password.

All I see in there is what is normally logged after the modem boots. I need the log from the modem after it's seen a drop before it is even rebooted as the log is saved to RAM (and thus clears when it reboots). This time, get it from the "All" category as the "Connection" category seems to be lacking some information on the modem syncing.
