I am considering purchasing the VHM kit. I have an application that needs an outdoor,POE camera. There is a Cat5e drop available, but no power at the site.
Are there any POE, wired, outdoor cameras available? I can get a POE injector, but need night capabilities for this location for security.
I cannot find any information on the cameras as far as power requirements or installation. Any help would be appreciated.

At present the three (3) models of cameras that are available with the Home Monitoring and Control product all require an AC power source. No model is presently offered that allows for use of Power Over Ethernet (POE). Note also that the three camera models offered through Verizon are the only cameras that are operable with the Home Monitoring and Control system.

As you can see from the Verizon employess response they do not allow the competitors equipment to run on their system. That is why I switched to MiCasaVerede Vera3. They support all Z-Wave, Insteon and X-10 and do support your POE cameras.

Verizon Home Monitoring and Control permits Z Wave certified devices in three device classes to operate on our platform at this time. These include 3rd-party lighting modules, appliance switches, and door/window sensors. Additional Z Wave device classes will be supported in the coming months.
