adding a second router

I am adding a second router with dd-wrt to my network between my LAN and Verizon's gateway/router and having trouble getting the two subnets taliking.

Network 192.168.2.0 (my LAN)

my pc:  192.168.2.2

dd-wrt router internal IP:  192.168.2.1

Network 192.168.1.0  (LAN between dd-wrt and Verizon router)

dd-wrt router WAN IP:  192.168.1.2

verizon router internal IP:  192.168.1.1

my pc, the furthest I can ping is to 192.168.1.2.  I cannot ping 192.168.1.1 or further.
