extending router signal distance

How can I extend my router distance? Can I piggy-back another router on to the provided one to extend the signal 50'?

if you have DSL or fios you can piggy back a router without a problem. 

 

here are the fios instructions 

 

I use a trendnet easy wireless n upgrader, I bought off amazon.   works great

I am using a simple wireless access point (WAP) connected via Ethernet to  run a second wireless network in the building.  This allows wireless wherever necessary, and it can be moved to suit future requirements.
