Re: Call Block

I tried *60 and hear "not available for this service". I guess our FIOS is not as advanced as Verizon claims. My 85 year old parents are harassed all the time and extremely unhappy about this. This is ridiculous though my Dad would use a more colorful word. They were so mad that they almost cancelled before our 2 year commitment was over even if they were charged a penalty. I'm  willing to bet they don’t renew.

Re: Call Block

I wonder if the Verizon's no call lists doesn't feed many caller's lists ? I have another line with another provider and never get any call from anybody else than my acknowledged correspondents (the only ones I gave my number !)

Re: Call Block

I live in eastern VA and wanted this service. I called Verizon and they were too happy to add it to my plan (even though the web-sites says the plan is no longer available), for $3.50/month.

It was activated very quickly.

I only have two numbers that I want blocked, when I put in the fist number I got a message that says "service does not work with numbered entered". Got the same message on the second number. Type in my work# and that worked, but I can't really block that number.

Called verizon technical support and they inform me that the service doesn't work will all numbers. I don't know who the service provider is for the first number I tried, but the second number is a verizon cell phone in the same area code!

So I called verizon back and canceled the service, but they didn't cancel it.

Had to call them back and get it canceled again. Get a confirmation #!

Re: Call Block

I had the same experience.  Since the national Do Not Call list is sort of a joke, and Verizon will not provide a useful call block service, I purchased and use OOMA to block the daily barrage of telemarketers and political robocalls.  It works great and there's no limit to the number of entries on your list.
