Frankly this is a first for me so my suggestion is based entirely on speculation. However based on the question that I think you are asking, you may want to contact an insurance brokerage or insurance company that sells business interruption policies. It would be quite surprising to learn that this issue is in any way related to Verizon Communications.
At one point Verizon offered an "insurance plan" on home wiring. In case you had wiring issues VZ would come out and fix it for no charge.
