I would think that is is a simple as the DVR's serial number is associated with your account and off you go.

Or perhaps the HD serial number. The DVR can change right. Merry the HD SN to the account so it would work regardless of the DVR.
Don't matter to me, it wont happen. It would actually take work, and perhaps a few pennies.
I think Dish does allow something like this now, with a built-in Slingbox routine. It has been some years since I was with Dish and had the wonderful model 622, but am now curious. I will have to check the satellite forums to see how things are going there.
