Forwarding text messages to separate phone

I recently added a second telephone line to my plan and set it up to automatically forward to my old number.  I did this because I moved and wanted to retain my old number but also have a local one for business purposes.  Although phone calls are forwarded without a problem, I can't get text messages to forward.  Does anyone know how I can accomplish this??

Thanks,

Brad

Re: Forwarding text messages to separate phone

I could be mistaken, but I don't think this can be done on a regular cell phone.  Perhaps there is a third party app that will accomplish this on phones that can use third party apps.....I see you have a Blackberry Storm - maybe there IS an app for the Storm.  Perhaps post this on the BB boards, or maybe we can get a mod to move it or combine if you've double posted.....

Yes you can download an application to your phone. Go to www.electricpocket.com  and download "textforward" You can set this up to forward any sent and recieved sms text messages to your email or phone. You can only forward them to a different phone if they are both  Verizon. The Application has a free trial and a full download for $7.95. Its easy to set up and works.

Thanks - this IS an app that "automatically forwards SMS text messages you send or receive on your Android, BlackBerry or Windows Mobile smartphone to any email address you supply."

As I said originally, I don't think this is possible with regular phones, but it looks like it is doable with BB and smartphones.
