Hunt group and outgoing caller ID

We have 4 analog lines in a hunt group. When someone makes a outgoing call when the first line is in use, the caller id on that call is not the main telephone number. We have asked Verizon the change the caller ID to be the Main # on all four lines, but Verizon states it cannot be done. This causes a problem because people call back the number from the caller ID and if it is after hours they do not get routed to the answering service which is forwarded from the main number.

Re: Hunt group and outgoing caller ID

Have you tried contacting the answering service to see if they can add the additional lines on without any additional cost.

I'm going to look into this further and see if I can find you a viable solution with minimal to no cost.

Re: Hunt group and outgoing caller ID

That could be a solution, but we like to have a line available that can bypass the ans. service, for family or important calls. Our PC  vendor states he was able to accomplish this with another client who uses verizon. We are using a reseller so we have no access to Verizon tech support.
