Moving under contract

I have been with V FIOS since September and have am moving this month. The area I am moving is not supported by V FIOS or V High Speed. What will happen to my contract? I do not remember if I have a 1 or 2 year contract but it was FIOS 5/15 internet and home phone.

I think you have to pay the early termination fee since you are under contract and I believe there's a clause in there about moving. You could always call (talk to a supervisor if the rep. gets you no where) and see what they say because I have known people to get out of their contract because of moving while others couldn't.

Same thing happend with my cell phone when I moved in the past and they had no service. They told me to bad, but after enough complaning they agreed to let me go.

UPDATE: I did some quick research for you and found this.

"As a Verizon Fios Sales customer service rep in NJ - I will tell you that us reps do have the power to waive the ETF fee if you are moving to an area where fios isn't available and disconnect service. Best advise is to be nice and ask the customer service rep to waive the fee since fios isn't avail at the new location. If he/she refuses - ask for a supervisor. Also make sure you write down the disconnect order # , date you spoke wth the rep and the rep's name. Keep that for about 1 to 2 mnths till you get your final bill and it shows zero or that you paid off final amount."

So looks like there is a good chance. Good luck!

What about requiring them to provide service in your new area.

Isn't them providing service part of the contract?

Are they not in breach of contract for not providing service in your new area?
