Really lame - to change billing for autopay you have to re-enroll?

Every site I've used has the option to "change payment method."

When I tried to change my recurring autopay for Verizon to a different credit card, I had to 're enroll' the new card, add phone number, accept conditions etc. All I'm doing is changing my payment method, but Verizon makes you "re enroll" which is really lame.
