Re: your website help page is broken

I was able to get the page to load. It may have been a temporary problem with the site. Are you still having trouble trying to access it? Reply back if so that way we can provide assistance.

Hi Anthony,

If getting the "Bad Request" response is a temporary problem, My Verizon has been having a lot of temporary problems lately. :smileysad:

For the last few weeks, maybe a month, I seem to get that response about as often as I get the page I am actually going after. There does not seem to be any pattern, and if I get it now, it may work 5, 10, 20, 30 minutes from now, it may not work until the next day, etc. And it moves around, not always the same pages.

I have been wondering, does that message come up when maintenance is being done on a page or a part of the website? And whatever causes the message, just putting up the words "Bad Request....." with no identification of where the message came from is bad form IMO, would be nice if Verizon would at least put their logo on the page, and a better explanation would be very nice.

For the record, I am using different software than the OP: Windows 7 64-bit, Firefox 10.0.2.

Re: your website help page is broken

That's why I said it "may have been" temporary. Justin is this happening more during certain parts of the day then others?

Hi Anthony,

Not that I can tell. I am pretty sure I have had it happen at 7 am (CDT) and at mid-night, and anywhere in between. I may go to a page, it works, I try to go back to it 10 or 20 minutes later and it fails, and try again 30 minutes later and it works. No pattern of any kind that I have been able to see. But it would never be after maybe 1 am Central time as I am always in bed by then. :smileyvery-happy:

If it keeps happening, would it help if I tried to keep a log of which pages fail and when? I am not sure that I can remember to do it all the time, but maybe a few would help. :smileyhappy:

Let me know.

Re: your website help page is broken

Anthony,

Well I just got one.....

http://www22.verizon.com/home/bundles/fios/

And here is all that I see on the page when the error occurs:

Image 425.jpg

Whatever is causing this, someone should at least put some identifying info on the page that identifies where it is coming from, and even better a reason for the failure, at least some kind of code that can be used to report the problem.

I have started a log, will try to keep it for a while.

Re: your website help page is broken

Thanks Justin. Yes, descriptive error messages are better to  help pin point problems than general messages.

Re: your website help page is broken

Anthony,

here is a list of links that failed yesterday when clicking on a pulldown on the My Verizon page:

Bad Requests From Verizon Websites

Date    Time (CDT)    Web Page Address
7/10    11:12        http://www22.verizon.com/home/bundles/fios/
7/10    12:54        http://www22.verizon.com/home/fiostv/
7/10    12:55        http://www22.verizon.com/home/fiosinternet/
7/10    12:56        http://www22.verizon.com/home/phone/fiosdigitalvoice/
7/10    12:59        http://www22.verizon.com/support/residential/homepage.htm

I just tried the first one again today and it failed again, haven't tried any of the others.

Any suggestions on what I might try to help identify the problem? It seems to be happening more and more.
