today i qualify for my annual upgrade but didn't get a chance to go into a store today to take advantage of this. however, i was told if i do the upgrade online, i do not have to pay the $20 early upgrade fee. is this correct?
this is just a curious question. anyone have any idea how many people really take advantage of the annual upgrade instead of waiting for their NE2? a month or so ago, i was ready to dump my Voyager & could not wait til 2/7/10 got here. however, in the past few weeks, after taking it to a store & getting the latest version (or whatever the rep did to it), the phone has been working fine. i'm so mad b/c i had got all siked to get the HTC Eris now i'm wondering should i wait on the NE2 or see if the price goes down (on the Moto Droid or Eris-know of any upcoming specials?). i know this is a decision i have to make but i'm just curious as to what others have to say & in a pleasant manner! however, if i can upgrade online w/o the $20...i may do the upgrade anyway.
and another ?. if i do the annual upgrade, will i still be eligible for the NE2 on the new phone if i sign a 2 year contract? or do i lose the NE2 option forever b/c i upgraded my old phone early? hope this particular ? makese sense.

Online you usually do not have to pay the 20.00 upgrade fee ( generally speaking) but every account is different. All the charges that comes with the upgrade will be shown to you before you submit the order online, so that gives you the opportunity to choose whether the store or online is your best option. If you decide to do the annual upgrade, you will still have the ne2 on your account but it will start over for another two years.
