This is really off topic but is it me or do people forget they have a blinker in their cars/trucks/SUV etc.
I'm noticing more and more than greater than 50% of people do NOT use their blinker. I will be driving down main street and the person in front of me slows down for no reason then decides they are going to turn into a parking lot, without using their blinker.
There have been more occasions of people not using their blinker whether they change lanes, turn into a parking lot etc.
Did I miss the notice that says a blinker is now optional? Oh maybe that's it!!!!

Definitely still not optional. I just took a Defensive Driving course, and all it did was remind me that all of those other drivers aren't just inconsiderate, they're lawbreakers. Granted, I have a bit of a lead foot, so I'm technically a lawbreaker too (hence the DD course).
Not signalling is one of my biggest pet peeves though. Move your finger one or two inches. It's not that hard.

Second on the blinker list are the ones that drive for miles and miles with their turn signal on. Just love following someone on a multi-lane highway never knowing if they are going to change lanes - and then when they do it is the opposite of the signal that has been on.

I seriosly almost lost it last night. It was raining lightly and on a highway doing 55 in the left lane of a two lane road when some guy in an SUV slows down to a complete stop and turns into the median so he could make a u-turn. Of course no blinker.

We have this problem in my area as well. I guess it's pretty universal. I won't say it happens a lot as there are things that take place more often here than not turning a turning signal on, but I'll talk about that shortly. I've only had a few times where due to a lack of a turning signal I've had to slam on the breaks. I can almost guarantee it was either because the person wasn't looking to see what kind of clearance they had, or that they were just distracted or royally confused. All of these instances, there is never a signal on. I also don't see signals a lot of times near busy intersections. Surprise, surprise! Makes it worse when you can't see whether or not they're in a turning lane.
In my area, people have more of an issue with speeding and passing illegally. Crashes out where I am are pretty frequent, and it seems that whenever we get bad weather, there's always someone in the ditch because they were speeding to get from A to B. I'm a person who drives defensively, doing the speed limit or under based on road conditions, and I'm always being tailgated by someone who wants to do 70 in a 55. I understand the want for speed, but people need to plan better or accept being late if they're going to do that. I'm not going to speed up or pull off to the side of the road because of that. Snow on the road? You've got people driving in trucks the same way they drive in the summertime. Those are the same ones I find in the ditch a mile ahead of me after they pass me. If someone's under the speed limit, I'm fine with it. If I can pass them safely, I can. I understand the reasons why people would go slower than the limit, and I don't hassle myself over it.
What does irritate me on the road are people who cannot decide whether they are stopping or going. It seems that driving habits trend in this area, from speeding, to not using turning signals, to pressing on the breaks for no reason. Seems like every other week I've got someone who speeds up, hits the breaks not even near an intersection or even following a car, speeds up, and does the same thing 10 seconds later, and every time I come across one of these drivers I give them further clearence as I cannot understand why they keep stopping. I do this simply bcause I don't want to risk them slamming on the breaks after losing their mind and risking injuring anyone or ruining vehicles.
I sometimes think the world is out to get me, but I see it as another challenge the world is putting me through as a test, so I take it all positively. I do get some good humor out of talking to some people casually about driving, they bring up they speed, and I ask how many tickets they've got. Always give them the jokish version of "Shame on You" when they say they've got 3+ speeding tickets on record and they haven't been driving for very long ![]()

I don't mind people going under the limit. There are a ton of legitimate reasons for going slower. What I do have an issue with is people going under the limit in the fast lane (far left here in TX) on the highway. The left lane is the fast lane here, and a passing only lane in several other states. The right lane is the slow lane. If you want to go slow, that's fine. Just get out of the way. ;P
If it's a one-lane road, though, I wouldn't expect anyone to speed up or pull over just for me. This is strictly a highway pet-peeve.

Guess this week is off to an awesome start. We went from the nonsense mentioned above in my area to now having some people violate the Right of Way rules on the road. I've seen way too many people recently making left turns just as a light turns green at an Intersection. You're supposed to let non-turning vehicles go first through a light, not make the turn first and force the person going straight to slam on the breaks suddenly right at an Intersection! Yet again, the rules do state if a car's making a left hand turn you have to yield them if you are approaching the Intersection, but you still cannot left turn first when cars need to go straight after a Red at the Intersection itself.
I swear the road never ceases to amaze me. It's not a single wonder to me why there's a wreck every day in front of my neighborhood. Finally glad to see the police out and about ticketing people if they even slightly cross the yellow lines on wide roads. Too many cars moving back and fourth across a road not avoiding potholes/obstacles/etc when driving straight. Less mailboxes being taken out and pedestrians having to run off of their own safe part of the road because of someone being unable to determine how far right they are because they're too busy on a phone.
