I'm with you.  I am tired of the way Verizon conducts business.  I wish there was a way to get the word out.

So why don't you just cancel and find some other service that you do like and then you can "get the word out" in a positive manner for a change.

I don't intend to defend them, but you do these forums are not just for Verizon users ?

Yes I know that non-customers can join the forums. But I am confused by your question.

I also know that these forums are intended for Verizon customers to help other Verizon customers. That genius is actually a Verizon customer, at least he is based on his posts. If you go look at his two posts (total), you will see he has done nothing but complain about stuff that no other customer could reasonably help with, he has not offered anything positive, he has not tried to help anybody.

Back to non-customers joining the Verizon Forums. A question: do you think it would make sense for me as a non-customer to join a Charter Cable customer-helping-customer forum (assuming one exists) or an AT&T customer-helping-customer forum (assuming one exists) or a DirecTV customer-helping-customer forum (assuming one exists), etc., etc., etc., and post nothing but complaints on how I hate the company and their service sucks, or whatever? I most certainly don't think it makes sense, I won't do it, and I don't think anybody should.

IMO the Verizon Forums are being harmed by what I would call the "loons" (applies to both Verizon customers and non-customers) coming here to complain about stuff that there is no reasonable possibility of other customers helping with. They contribute nothing useful at all with those posts. Now if they actually have a question that another customer could reasonably answer, more power to them, be it a complaint with a question or whatever (and certainly Verizon deserves any number of complaints). But wouldn't it be even better if more of them came at times to offer help to other customers?

For non-customers, it seems to me the forums are really just an opportunity to come and see what Verizon has to offer, what their customers have to say about how well the products work and what functions exist, get explanations of features and services, etc.. That is it, or at least that should be it IMO.

Those are my views. Just wondering, do you disagree?

Three reasons not to cancel.

1. Contacting them on the phone is almost impossible if you work, have a family or a life. You must have hours to dedicate to this mission. Once you think you can cross that off your list, you find out person you spoke to never followed up. Back to the drawing board.

2. A Contract. If you are fortunate enough to get this far in your cancellation process, you must be willing to forfeit your deposit.

3. "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't" The next cable service you subscribe with will be not be any better.

They are are horrible.

I've contacted them on multiple occassions throughout the 5+ years I've been with VZ and have no problems getting through.

If contracts scare you why not choose the "no contract" option, its why they have it.

No provider is 100%.  No matter what provider there is people will always complain.  I just think Verizon offers a much better product than my local cable company.  Are they too expensive sure.  Are there issues sure but I think logical about it and know that what I get with VZ is much faster internet and a much better picture than Cable.

Re: If I knew then what I know now

I never had problems with the service it is the people you have to talk to when you have a problem. Most of the customer service people don't know what they are doing.
