Now with all the greedy bumbs on strike, how do I sign up to be a Verizon scab? I've been out of work for about 2 years and would like a job that pays... not worried about the benfits the union guys want.

Maybe you are unemployed because you are {please keep your posts courteous}
The union men and women are not asking for MORE. They are trying to maintain or keep the costs to a minimum! Greedy is the $55,000 the CEO of Verizon takes home each day. So for every HOUR you lay on your sofa judging people and collecting our tax dollars, this guy makes more than $8,000.
You are unemployed because you didn't have a union fighting for you.

Maybe one needs to look in the mirror. I am not anti-union but in this economy when almost all types of workers are "giving back" many benefits and unemployment is at (or above) 9% a strike doesn't make sense. Just like our wonderful politicians in Washington the ability to compromise is not a negative thing. I agree that the executive compensation at most companies is excessive and I feel the same way about the obscene pay that "pro athletes" receive.
I was laid off and for 2 years scraped by on consulting work (I am a degreed electrical engineer) and did very little feeding at the public trough (just the first month or so until I could get some old contacts renewed). The lack of a union had nothing to do with the protection (or lack of) for myself and the other 30% of the company that were let go.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone. . .
We will allow the topic of the work stoppage to continue as long as the posts are in compliance with the community Terms of Service. This includes being courteous and respectful of others' opinions. However, personal attacks and "flaming" other community members will not be tolerated and could effectively shut down the conversation.
Please be "twice as nice" when making a post on the community as you would be in person.
Thanks!!

CWA and IBEW members are on strike to protect jobs and benefits. Without the Union we would be all in the unemployment line like you. We are fighting not only for ourselves but the middle class of America in total. If you want to be a scab, I would have to say that is weird, most people have higher aspirations. Since you have been unemployed all this time why haven't you applied to VZ before the strike. You are not going to get hired off a blog.
