Who can I talk to about reuse of used/old utility poles?

Does anyone know who I can talk to at Verizon (person or department) concerning the reuse of used/old utility poles? We're trying to use them to lay on the ground to keep vehicles from pulling onto the grass and parking where they're not supposed to be parking. Thought this would also be a good reuse of a natural resource. Thanks, Bob

Be cautious of the wood treatment that is used for those poles. Some facts that are not widely known. While your intentions may be good, I believe that the poles are or should be disposed of as hazardous waste. I knew about the creosote in the dark colored poles, but when looking up information, I had no idea of the extent the companies use of chemicals to preserve these poles.

Many childrens playgrounds stopped the use of wood chipps because of chemicals, and also the use of presure treated wood to make the play structures.
