MVP List #34 (April 14 - 20, 2012)

The Verizon Community Forums Most Valuable Posting List is where we recognize great work and words happening every day right here on our community. We know the success as a community is based on the continual and lively contributions of our valued members. Each member provides special and unique contributions and this is the place we try to highlight members that have stood out during the previous week.

Thread of The Week:

Even though an answer hasn't been found yet on this particular thread, it's clearly our Thread of the Week as it embodies everything we want this Community to be.  Many thanks to everyone for working with the OP to help him figure out why he has a packet loss issue. Can't wait to see if you can figure out the root cause!

Post of the Week:

We've established a time or two that I'm not a tech person, but even I understood Lasagna's great reply back in this thread that details the difference between the modems and routers. Hubrinxs also gets a shout out for offering the initial solution!

Member of the Week:

Thanks to timmattison for his help in figuring out how to get FiOS Media Manager set to access a network drive. This was Tim's first post on the Forums and he hit it out of the park! Keep up the good work!

Re: MVP List #34 (April 14 - 20, 2012)

Thread of the week was great, but I had tried to work with a user where an entire trace route was edited out for privacy. I gave up.

Many kudos for this effort!

Hi prisaz

Unfortunately, a user's IP is considered personal information.  If they post a copy/paste, we are able to edit it out. However, when it's in an image, we have to remove the entire thing.  But when we message the user, we ask them to obscure their IP and to re-post the image.

Good reason, makes sense. But couldn't you edit the image (with an image editor) and cover up the IP address? I do that kind of thing all the time with images I post here to protect my privacy (although as you know I occasionally do screw that up :smileyhappy: ). Would save the confusion and need for the user to repost the image.

We will certainly give that some consideration, Justin.
