In recognition of the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day, Media Planet created a special section that appeared in many editions of this weekend’s USA Today.
The section, titled “Investing in Women & Girls,” focuses on efforts by individuals, nonprofit organizations and businesses to create positive change for women and girls around the world.
I’m proud to say that Verizon and a few of our partners are featured in the section on the issue of domestic violence prevention.
Verizon’s plans to partner with the NFL Players Association on its “Training Camp for Life Program,” are highlighted in an article titled “Engaging men and boys to end domestic violence.” (The article appears on page 22).
The program, which teaches teens about developing life skills, will now include sessions on domestic violence prevention/healthy relationships.
We are thrilled to partner with the NFL Players Association on this powerful program, and expect to have more details to share on the partnership later this year.
Please take some time to learn more about the great efforts many, including the National Network to End Domestic Violence and the Family Violence Prevention Fund, are taking to create opportunities and improve the lives of women around the world. http://doc.mediaplanet.com/all_projects/6574.pdf
