Jeff Kramer blogs about accessibility issues for Verizon.
I wanted to let you know about our new wireless phone with accessibility features that might appeal to seniors or those with vision impairments.
The Samsung Gusto 2 has a large tactile keypad, dedicated shortcut keys for voicemail, text messaging and a customizable In Case of Emergency button. It replaces the Samsung Haven, our previous big-button phone, and adds Dynamic Voice Enhancement, a technology to help reduce background noise levels and enhance speech quality.
Other accessibility features include voice-enabled menus, the ability to speak basic functions out loud, such as incoming texts and contact lists. It also has an option for large font sizes.
All in all, it's a handy package for those looking for simplicity in a basic phone. And don't forget we have special Nationwide 65 Plus Plans, available for customers 65 and older.
More information is available in a news release and on the Verizon Wireless Gusto 2 page.
