Our Newest Green Phone

by Employee ‎08-08-2012 07:18 PM - edited ‎08-08-2012 07:42 PM

Samsung Intensity 3 and link to VZW pageI wanted to tell you about our newest “eco-phone,” the Samsung Intensity III, introduced in July. It’s ruggedized to military specs and has a slide-out keyboard. If you’re looking to minimize every aspect of your carbon footprint, this may be the phone for you. It features:

  • Exterior plastics made of 80% post–consumer materials
  • Energy efficient charger automatically reduces electricity draw after battery is full
  • Comes with an onboard “eco calculator” to help track carbon emissions
  • Green packaging.

And if you get a new phone, we have a couple of options for your old one. The Verizon Wireless Trade-In Program lets you to trade in your used mobile devices from any carrier, get it appraised, and receive an electronic gift card. And Verizon’s HopeLine program turns no-longer-used wireless phones into support for victims of domestic violence. Both programs dispose of electronics in an environmentally sound way.
