Verizon Thinkfinity teams with NAACP to Bring Civil Rights Lessons to Life

by Employee ‎02-22-2010 11:32 AM - edited ‎03-11-2010 10:15 AM

NAACP Timeline.jpgLast week I had the opportunity to take part in a fantastic event - the unveiling of the NAACP Interactive Historical Timeline.

The timeline is a unique, engaging educational tool that brings the stories of the NAACP's history and the civil rights movement to life through words, pictures and video.

From information on W.E.B. Du Bois and the founding of the NAACP to the election of Barack Obama, the NAACP Historical Timeline will be an ever growing source of valuable information for students, teachers and parents.

I'm proud to say the project was funded through a $500,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation.

I'm also happy to share that the NAACP Interactive Historical Timeline is also the newest addition to Verizon's Thinkfinity.org web site.

For those new to this blog, Verizon Thinkfinity is a free educational web site containing thousands of rich resources, from lesson plans, to educational videos and podcasts to printable worksheets.

I encourage you to visit Thinkfinity.org and spend a little time on our newest resource, it will leave you inspired.
