Employees Provide $300,000 in Donations for Back to School Needs

Tools for Schools LogoA few weeks ago, I wrote about the volunteer program at Verizon called “Tools for Schools.”


Now that the program is over for this school year, I thought I’d give you an update on how things went. 


In total, Verizon employees provided more than $300,000 through collections and donations to help more than 30,000 students return to school with the right tools.

From April 1 to June 30, Tampa Bay was buzzing.  Verizon employees were spreading the word to their friends, families and customers about the 90-day Kindness Campaign, a collaborative effort to bring food, toy and blood donations to people in need in the Tampa Bay area.
