Your Words Can Inspire Students to Pursue Their Dreams

NAACP Timeline.jpg

Last week I had the opportunity to take part in a fantastic event - the unveiling of the NAACP Interactive Historical Timeline.

The timeline is a unique, engaging educational tool that brings the stories of the NAACP's history and the civil rights movement to life through words, pictures and video.

From information on W.E.B. Du Bois and the founding of the NAACP to the election of Barack Obama, the NAACP Historical Timeline will be an ever growing source of valuable information for students, teachers and parents.

I want my sons to be moved by the inspirational words of Dr. Martin Luther King in his own voice. I want my sons to experience the music of Duke Ellington, so I do as thousands of teachers across the country do, I visit Verizon's Thinkfinity.org.

Throughout the month of February, Verizon Thinkfinity will feature a special section on its homepage highlighting an array of educational resources, podcasts and videos to bring these valuable stories to life during Black History Month.

For those new to this blog, Thinkfinity.org is a free educational Web site funded by the Verizon Foundation. The site contains tens of thousands of dynamic, engaging educational resources designed to make learning fun.
