nneka_ezenwa133x236.jpgToday’s guest blogger is Nneka Ezenwa, a Verizon employee and mother of two young girls. She attended our free Internet Safety Month webinar, “How to Keep Your Children Safe on the Internet.”

I’m doing what I can to teach my children (ages 9 and 5) how to stay safe on the Internet.  However there are so many ways kids can get online now that it’s hard to keep up with them all. But as the African saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child.

onlinesafety133x270.jpgIn support of Internet Safety Month, I wanted to share a video compiled by the Family Online Safety Institute that presents facts and stats about the global state of digital safety. Jack-McArtney-133x175.jpgJack McArtney manages online safety issues for Verizon. He has played a key role in the introduction of Verizon Safeguards and numerous parental control products and services for Verizon customers.

That is why I am happy to report that the CTIA and the Electronic Software Ratings Board (ESRB) announced its mobile app rating initiative this morning in Washington, D.C. This important step by the wireless industry will help consumers better manage their wireless experience by providing a consistent rating system for mobile applications.

banner300x250_inline.jpgPBS' award-winning FRONTLINE program focused last week on our Digital Nation. It was an excellent look at the complexities of our virtual world.
