Hi jecra
Right beside the title of the Idea, you'll see a two tone red square that has the number of votes on top, and an arrow underneath. Click on that arrow to add your vote!
We hear you that there are items of feedback you have provided to us about the services you would like to see. We take that feedback seriously. I know it is not really satisfying but its hard for us to comment on why some things happen before others. Similiarly, it is difficult to provide much feedback on what is coming up. What we can say is that we greatly value the guidance you provide us, we refer to it daily in our conversations on this and other topics, and hope you will continue to provide it.
Here's me continuing to provide feedback: it's embarrassing that we still don't have BBC America and Cartoon Network in HD. It's embarrassing that we have six unwatchable tv channels taking up space, but still don't have this basic content. It's embarrassing that this idea was "accepted" a good year ago, and it still hasn't been followed through on. It's embarassing that, in 2011, Verizon added something like 3 times as many SD channels as HD channels, and, worse, seems proud of this fact.

Heck, back on September 11, during the football games, all the big companies were airing really well-done corporate messaging spot -- Budweiser Clydesdales, State Farm kids singing "Empire State of Mind" -- and there's Verizon, airing a 4:3 SD spot.
Seems to me like Verizon top management is living ten years in the past and has no idea that HD content is important, and that nobody wants SD content anymore.
Protip: it's almost 2012. HD content is important. Really, really important. Let's go.
@ Malcolm Stanley - I have to be honest, what you posted is no different than the canned response that any company coaches it's employees to use in response to complaints. I do not feel any better when I read or hear something like that. When my wife and I watch a channel in SD that is available by that channel in HD but Verizon has yet to add it, AND we pay not a small price at all for what is claimed by Verizon to be the leader in HD, canned responses will not make it better. If you already have the channel in SD, and the network has a HD feed, add it. No exceptions.
It is only because I cannot trust a dish to deliver consistent picture quality that I do not switch to Dish Network. Only because of that. Otherwise, I'm so unhappy that I am missing channels that I would.
Yes, it's been over a year now. Another season of Dr. Who has come and gone, watched in SD. Let's make this happen.
As best I can tell, a FIOS employee (Joe, @FIOSTV on twitter) commented in this thread in 10/10, then the next entry by a FIOS employee on this issue was about one year later. That's just disgraceful if you ask me.
I believe that the issue has to be monetary, there is something not advantageous to verizon or profitable to add this HD channel. Ditto for the on demand selection of shows, and HD.
For instance with MSG it has to do with the fact that cablevision and fios are competitors in nyc area, and obviously the dolan's are using their unfair advantage in being cable operators and content owners to prevent fios, or did.
But BBC america I believe is owned by the BBC. So what is the real reason FIOS? Cant we at least get an honest answer, like BBC is asking more than verizon is willing to spend, instead of the typical "sorry, we love you, cant give you an exact time frame, its in the que, blah blah blah?" Dont we at least deserve that much?
Or is it that there is no immediate plan, and a certain number of us might find that feature important enough to switch back to alternative such as cablevision of DTV, perhaps when our contracts expire?
As a Brit exile, I'd like to add my $0.02's worth. BBC America is one of only a handful of channels I watch, there are so many junk channels available on FIOS TV that could be axed and no-one would even notice.
There again, I got my other desire fulfilled for Fox Soccer HD so maybe there's hope still for BBC America
The Dr. Who Christmas special is coming up soon and still no BBC America HD! And the new season of Primeval just started---this is one of my top watched channels, what's taking so long!
