Bring Back MSN Premium

So I just go the word that MSN Premium will stop being my ISP portal for my verizon/MSN email accounts, unless I pay more for MSN Premium.

I suppose this is because Verizon wants the ad space/revenue.  The only thing is when I went to log on, I get an error message that is not decipherable (may be user/password error, but who can tell????)

BRING BACK MY MSN for FREE.  I pay enough for the service that I do not deserve to be nickled and dimed like this.

BAD IDEA.  The $2 fee to pay your bill didn't work, so let's try this!!!

Do you want to keep your MSN too?   Let's hear it!

I wonder how long this will last.

" How much will it cost? Once you agree to purchase the retail version of MSN Premium, you'll be billed at the special MSN Premium price of $9.95 per year for the Economy plan (excludes technical support via phone and security software), "

My wife and daughter use it, but I can do without.

msn was the best thing that happen to Verizon. I have been using msn for many years. Never had a problem. Now i have to use other internet services and they suck.

I'll be leaving Verzion. I only stayed with Verizon is because of the MSN. I don't have $59 to upgrade to MSN.

It will be cheaper to go with Comcast where I have my cable anyways.

Now have to find all my emails, copy them all & change all y email addresses, a pain in the butt.

Thanks for the loyalty Verizon. I've been with you for more than 20 years but unless you give us our MSN

back for free then you just lost another customer.

This is NOT FAIR!!!!!  And in this bad economy I have to come ip with $ 60 bucks?? Not possible!!!!!

Can't swear on this forum but my in my head I am swearing.

Absolutely - so far I've lost 500 emails due to time out issues that never happened with MSN Premium and the calendar options on Verizon literaly are awful - messy, get different looks depending on where you try and access them from and once again VZ nickel and dimeing us to death.   My wife was putting together a long email to our relatives in Italy and when the email service timed out, all data was lost - so now she writes a letter in word and then copies it to email - double the work all because VZ email sucks!!!!

Verizon Sucks!!! I have used MSN Explorer long before I came to verizon and now I can"t use it  at all because I chose this sorry company to have as my ISP. And on top of that my bill did not go down at all because of this reduced service, how about yours??  this is outrageous, yet when you call them they act like they are doing me a favor, just letting me be a customer, (wha-ha) More people need to complain to this sorry company, until then they are not going to do anything but fill there pockets with our money. Another thing is why should we have to pay some much for phone service when internet phone is almost FREE. (magicjack) I asked them but the woman did not know what to say then, I mean phone service & internet service with verizon is between  $80.00- $90.00"s while my cell phone service which has phone service & internet service is only $30.00 a month, of course its not with verizon anymore. Its just time to find another ISP just like I did with my cell phone. Sorry for all the foolish people who stay with verizon, there are to many companies out there that would love our business and this customer is LOOKING!!

They offered the Economy plan MSN Premium during the window where you could have subscribed for $9.95 a year directly through Microsoft. I did and figured it would be better than the MSN Premium with all the added antivirus and other software I do not use. I load my own protection. The higher price was if you wanted all the extra MSN protection software.

I am surprised anyone still wants MSN premium. It has been underminded by Microsoft's other free offerings that are superior. Examples free HOTMAIL and Windows Live Mail, security essentials, etc. Even finding it on the various Microsoft sites is hard.

My wife and daughter like the interface. Go figure. The $9.95 a year version does not come with any of the protection software. Add on Security Essentials if you wish. Or use Avast.  For one they don't want to give up the Email addresses.

It's been many months since I was forced to give up MSN for the Verizon e-mail account. I am totally unhappy with the Verizon e-mail. The spam filter doesn't work. When I type in "Delete all incoming mail where the subject contains "VIAGRA", and today an e-mail arrives that has "VIAGRA" twice in the subject, something is surely wrong.

When you are composing e-mail and go to send it, even if you have been sitting there writing the whole time, taking no breaks, it often tells me "you've been timed out" and now my e-,mail is gone. -Unless it has been "autosaved", but then it's only part of my e-mail. I've stopped using Verizon to send e-mail. Too much risk of losing what I've written.

And about that "timed-out" issue...No other e-mail service that I've ever used times out my mailbox like Verizon. AOL, MSN Premium, MSN Hotmail, Yahoo, all leave the mailbox open and readily accessible unless I actually close it. Why do I have to click buttons to open my Verizon box every time I leave for a minute?

Deleting read e-mails-they don't always delete and I often have to do 3 or 4 tries to get them to delete.

"Verify your information"? What the heck is that? When I just click on the button and re-try what I was trying to do, it works the second time. What was the "verify" step for?

When I leave my Verizon mailbox "open", without signing out after using it every time, anybody could have access to my billing info, account info, everything. Why can't you separate the personal account sign-in from the e-mail sign-in?

Verizon e-mail is horrible. It's like a cheaply-made free service that isn't free. I very often choose to use MSN Hotmail, which I also hate, because it's often easier to use.

One positive...I can open pictures and things in Verizon e-mail that I can't open in MSN Hotmail. I guess that's why I still keep the Verizon.

After searching through all the comments and suggestions, I didn't find anything like the "VIAGRA" complaint, so I wanted to post a new question. This was the only way I could figure out how to do that. I also didn't have the time to search every living posting for all of these other complaints, so if they appear somewhere else, sorry about that. My main purpose is not to chat with others about these problems, but suggest that you do something to try and fix them!
