I came here to post the same sentiment. Please place all Olympic Coverage/Results behind a page that someone must intentionally click to view. Those who wish to see the results 'real time' still can, and the rest of us who would like to enjoy the Olympics in prime-time can do so and enjoy the competition without having the results previously exposed.
Very simple work around.
Go to webmail here: http://webmail.verizon.net/signin/
Goes straight to the webmail sign-in page w/o all of the Verizon homepage clutter.
I agree w/ "don't ruin the Olympics," but for another reason. I am tired of my Verizon homepage continuously showing Phelps' picture. Of course Verizon is aware that there are other much higher profile athletes from the US who have won Gold for this country. Yet, they do not run any stories or show their pictures.
One of the world's top tennis players in the history of singles and doubles tennis, has won the singles gold for the US, two (2) days ago. Serena Williams and her sister should be recognized for their talent in the sport, and not ignored for other reasons. Yet Verizon will recognize others athletes (not even Americans.) They write bios and run their pictures, and some have not even won a medal for their country. Some did not make the cut, yet Verizon "idolizes" them. Yes, Verizon, you need to be called out on this one. What type of mindset are your writers catering to?

Much higher profile than the most decorated olympian in history? Huh. Guess I missed them...
