Unless I missed something and I have searched for a way to resolve it, it is really a PAIN when logged on and typing replies, all of sudden the session times out and you lose all data.
Why can't an option be provided that when the session is getting ready to time out, you are prompted a warning and asked if you wish to either stay logged in or save your data?
I have sometimes had to put together a reply using Word and then log on and paste it in.
If there is some opion in email to fix this, please advise.
The e-mail sever seems a little slow anyhow, then coupled with the timeout can make for an annoying experience. An acknowledgement that you session will expire in 60 seconds would be the minimum resolution. I also feel that the time frame while crafting an e-mail should be longer.
Thanks
I agree about the Verizon email timing out. Mine does it constantly and I complained to Verizon technical help about it. The tech checked the line remotely and said that there was a problem concerning the weakness of the signal if that makes sense. He then suggested that I use another application to retreive my email. He followed up the situation with another call the next day to see if
there was any improvement. So I suggest using another application to get your email.
I CONCUR with this suggestion. I have TOO MANY times been composing a Verizon email, and because I didn't compose it first in a word processor so I could paste it, lost it during a compose session because Verizon Email did not automatically "save draft", EXTREMELY AGGRAVATING. This is year 2012 - computers have been evolving for 40+ years. Verizon: you have an okay email system - please enhance your failsafe safety net for your customers so we don't lose our work in an email. Time is important to us as well as you. Less time we spend in your email system will make it faster, more efficient.
I just got locked out of my webmail THREE times while trying to write ONE SENTENCE! I started saving it as a draft after every few words until I accidentally hit Delete instead of Save. The message disappeared and was NOT in my delete folder! When I called tech support, he said there was nothing wrong with webmail. Then I found this thread.
I can't stay logged in for one minute without getting the error report pop-up? Instead of making changes that nobody wants, why don't you focus on fixing the things we already have? I'm just going to use my Yahoo email till Verizon fixes the webmail...
We had MSN Premium for years and it worked very well. We refused to pay extra for the service, so have been trying to use Verizon's e-mail since last March. I hate the time-out nonsense! I've never used an e-mail program that times you out while you are in the middle of composing an e-mail! How many e-mail responses have I lost because I was unable to respond in what seems like a very SHORT amount of time. I also hate being timed out constantly while I am busy doing other things and then come back to my Verizon box. No other e-mail service that I've used does this. MSN Premium stayed open until I closed it. So does Yahoo and MSN Hotmail. I tried to send a completed e-mail today and I waited and waited as the little timer went around and around. I copied the whole e-mail and pasted it into MSN Hotmail, went back and copied the address, went back again and copied the subject, then sent the e-mail. It sent immediately. I went back to Verizon e-mail again and the little timer was still going around and around. I just deleted it. I'm very sick of trying to use the Verizon mailbox. I hate the MSN Hotmail, but at least I can send an e-mail from there without having it deleted, or at best, half saved in the "drafts" folder because I went over the limit of somebody's idea of "enough time" to compose an e-mail!
Oh, and I HATE the spell check process; a totally un-common sense process of saying "yes, check it", then "no, ignore it", then wait... And there's no way to add anything to a dictionary, so you're constantly having names pop up as misspellings.
I'm get really disquised when I'm writing a long email and the system times out. I have to sign in and start all over. Please give more time for writing.
An option available to you would be to leave yourself signed in for two weeks. This ia vailable when you sign on. Check the box to stay logged in.
