LIVE STREAMING TV

ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO WHILE AWAY IN ALASKA I LOST MOST OF MY SIGHT. I WAS MED-EVACED BACK TO PHILADELPHIA TO WILLS EYE HOSPITAL AND OPERATED ON.

SO NOW WHAT I AM LEFT WITH IS VERY LIMITED VISION, ACTUALLY VISION IN ONME EYE ONLY AND THAT EYE ONLY SEES ABOUT 18 TO 24 INCHES AWAY. SO AS I SIT EACH DAY IN THE HOUSE WITH A 52 INCH BIG SCREEN TV ON AND ONLY REALLY LISTEN TO THE TV BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS A BLUR AND SUBTITLES ARE IMPOSSABLE FOR ME TO READ ,SO IF NO ONE IS HOME I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE SUBTITLES SAY.

I DOWNLOADED VERIZONS MEDIA CENTER BECAUSE IT SAID WATCH TV WHEN YOU WANT TO. IT TURNS OUT I CAN ONLY WATCH THINGS I RENT FROM VERIZON ON MY LAPTOP , THE MEDIA CENTER DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO WATCH WHAT YOUR TECH PERSON SAID WAS LIVE STREAMING TV ON MY LAP TOP AS I THOUGHT I WOULD BE ABLE TO.

WHY IS IT THAT WITH ALL I PAY, AND ALL THE BOXES HANGING ON THE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE, AND THE ELECTRONICS INSIDE MY HOUSE THAT WERE PLACED BY VERIZON AND THE VERIZON INTERNET THAT I USE .WHY CAN'T YOU ALLOW ME TO AT LEAST CONNECT THROUGH MY INTERNET CONNECTION SO THAT I CAN SEE A MOVIE OR TV SHOW ON THE 17 INCH SCREEN OF MY LAPTOP COMPUTER.  I HAVE ALL THE CONNECTIONS ,ALL THE INTERNET CONNECTIONS, AND ALL THE PREMIUM CHANNELS , BUT I CAN'T USE THE ONE THING IN MY HOUSE THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO WATCH A TV SHOW,OR MOVIE  MY LAPTOP  ,SO I CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE SHOWS CLEARLY AND NOT BE A BURDEN TO MY FAMILY BY ASKING THEM TO READ THE SUBTILES THAT MANY OF THE TV PROGRAMS USE ,LET ALONE SEE CLEARLY THE PICTURE ON THE TV IF I AM NOT MORE THAN 2 FEET AWAY.

IF I AM PAYING FOR ALL THE VERIZON SERVICES WHY CAN'T VERIZON ALLOW ME TO WATCH TV ON MY LAPTOP ?  ITS THE ONLY THING IN THE HOUSE THAT I CAN SIT 12 INCHES AWAY FROM AND SEE EVERYTHING CLEARLY. RIGHT NOW I AM NOT WATCHING TV I AM LISTENING TO IT.  WHY CAN'T VERIZON HAVE LIVE STREAMING TV TO IT'S CUSTOMERS SO AT LEAST IN MY CASE I CAN WATCH A PROGRAM THAT I AM PAYING FOR BUT CAN'T SEE , ONLY HEAR?   I WILL BE HONEST I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE UNTIL I LOST MOST OF MY SIGHT.

I AM ALREADY FEELING BAD THAT I HAVE TO ASK OTHERS FOR HELP, AND TO READ SUBTITLES, AND AM STUCK AT HOME NOW BECAUSE I CANNOT NOT DRIVE. I GUESS I SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT AT LEAST I CAN LISTEN TO THE TV EVEN THOUGH I CANNOT VIEW IT CLEARLY ( AFTER TWO FEET EVERYTHING IS A BLUR ) . VERIZON SHOPULD ALLOW ITS CUSTOMERS TO USE LIVE STREAMING TV WITH ALL THE ELECTRONICS YOU PLACE IN OUR HOMES IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT HARD TO ALLOW A PERSON TO WATCH TV ON THEIR 15 OR 17 INCH COMPUTER SCREEN.

I just switched over from TimeWarner Cable and miss one service feature: using any PC to watch live streams of the TV channels. TW had a web site that after verifying subscription level offered a good number of TV channels as live streams. That turned any PC into a TV set. OK, in case of TW the problem was that their cruddy Internet service was not capable of delivering the bandwidth needed for the HD streams, but that is not the issue here. This also allowed for access on PCs that are not on the TW Internet service, for example, when visiting relatives.

Currently, the only online offers are canned episodes that sometimes work, but most of the time not. The easiest option would be to take the current channel lineup & program view and add for each row an option "Watch live stream".

I fully understand that there is extra cost involved and for that reason I suggest to limit it to the popular channels and as concession offer it only for those customers who have both FiOS TV and FiOS Internet. I would even pay a few bucks for it per month as it saves me from buying another TV set or a TV card for the computer, and potentially rent another cable box, plus it makes it available where I currently am. As protection against abuse it should be easy enough to check if someone is already logged in under a specific account and maybe limit it to the main and two sub accounts.

If TimeWarner can do it, Verizon should be able to do this as well!

Note: I only went as far as the first ten pages of suggestions. If this is a duplicate I apologize.

Hello, like the fellow who just transitioned from TW, I have a need to watch a little TV at times from an internet connection.  Live TV streaming is offered as a choice on some of the websites and when I click on the link, I am asked who my TV provider is and VERIZON/FIOS IS NOT one of the selections.  TW, COMCAST, DIRECT TV  and MANY MANY OTHERS (Including NO NAMERS) are available.  Can you start maklng VERIZON/FIOS available at some of those sites?  Here's one in particular:

"Why isn't my TV service provider listed?"

Fox News Digital

We are working to add more TV service providers, so please keep checking back to see if your provider has been added. You can help by telling your cable, satellite or telco company that you want access to Fox News Channel's by Deal Vault" href="http://foxnews.zendesk.com/entries/21725216-Why-isn-t-my-TV-service-provider-listed-#" in_rurl="http://i.trkjmp.com/click?v=VVM6MzI5OTg6MTMwNDp0diBldmVyeXdoZXJlOjM2NmMyOGZhNGMxNjc4N2I2ZGRkMmUyOWY5..."TV Everywhere service.

Thank you!

Why can we not get LIVE TV on our PC's?  It is available through cable and I believe DirecTV yet FiOS does not offer as of today.  It this in development?
