There needs to be a 1-click method to getting to our widgets--basically, a Widget version of the channel favorites. In addition--or by way of doing this--let us delete the default widgets that appear in the scroll.
What's the point in decreeing we can't delete the default widgets? Does Verizon think that if we're forced to have the Horoscope widget there, we'll eventually give in and look at it? If you want to put in certain ones by default, fine, but let us customzie them. The user should be able to put the Widgets they desire into the screentop scroll, and ONLY the ones they desire.
Two clicks?
Yes, two clicks:
1) Press Widget button
2) Press the OK button (as it tells you to do on the initial widget display)
You are now at the My Widgets selection list, which is what you said you wanted to get to: "There needs to be a 1-click method to getting to our widgets".
By my count that is two clicks.
As far as adding "as it tells you to do on the initial widget display," there's need to get snarky; besides, that does the exact same thing that I said--pressing the same key twice brings you to the same place.
My disagreement is with how you're counting clicks. The steps you describe not only don't quite get you to My Widgets--you still have to either press the right arrow or OK to get from the My Widgets text to the actual widgets. And once you do so, you have to click twice more: the first click selects the desired widget, but rather than actually launching it, you're taken to a second window, where you then must actually launch it.
It's still as I described it.
Being more generous, the current requirement is:
Five steps, five clicks
This ought to be:
Three clicks. And not only three clicks, but less time elapsed waiting for each page to load.
How in the world are you going to select the widget with one click if you have 4 in your My Widgets list like I do? Unless there is only one, repeat, only one, that you want to highlight or pick or select or whatever, it has to take more clicks than what is in your list. I most certainly do NOT want a one-widget default.
As I said, it is two clicks to get to the My Widgets list instead of the one you originally said you wanted, that was my point. And yes, of course it takes more to pick the widget I want, because I have four widgets in my list. I prefer having the confirmation extra click, simply because if I accidentally pick the wrong widget I don't want to have to wait for it to start so I can then turn around and stop it and start the one I originally wanted. But maybe that is just me....
I give up, you win, IMO you will never get what you want, but what do I know.
Enjoy your quest.
I don't know if you're being purposefully obtuse about what I'm asking about, as you've utterly ignored the clear steps I've posted--which the Verizon rep I spoke with by phone agreed was a great idea and didn't know why it wasn't already possibie and was going to forward it as a suggestion--either way, >plonk<
