Sirs, I came home from work and had to wait to find out you upgraded the TV Guide (if you want to call it an upgrade). I personally think it is two step backward and closely resembles the Comcast TV Guide of a few years ago. Not only is the TV Guide poor programming choice but it also does not hold to the "Favorites" when the box is turned off. In these days of resources conservation, I think that leaving the box turned on is a waste of resources and not very green thinking. I wonder who the "airhead" was that OK'ed this (so called) upgrade. I feel with this new TV Guide you've really screwed up.
BRING BACK THE OLD GUIDE! - THE NEW CHANNEL GUIDE IS HORRIBLE! - HARD TO READ-TOO SMALL FONT SIZE - SMALLER TIMEFRAM VIEWABLE - LARGE CHANNEL ICONS UN-NECESSARY - THE WORST GUIDE EVER- FIRE THE PERSON THAT CREATED IT
I hate the new tv guide. I have not gotten used to it after a couple of weeks and find that its more even more annoying the more that I use it. The biggest complaint that I have is that it is way to slow compared to the old guide. I pay for the fastest tv service and scrolling through the channel menus both into the future menus and down the channel guide should be the fastest. It's slower than scrolling through any satellite service. For the last 4.5 year I have had FOIS and loved it(including the TV guide changes until now). The speed was something I could brag to my friends who didnt have about when the came over and I always said that the day I moved out of the area to an area without FIOS would be one of the worst days of my life. Now, I'm considering going to Comcast even though the are a rip off. Change the TV guide back....please.
I have seen the new quide, have not had the pleasure to use it, but do not like what I see. The added features are great, but perhaps a graphic artist should have been consulted. Longer time lines, smaller icons on the horizontal guide, along with a little better contrast. I can't see that well and just hate to see what happens next month. I did not sneek peek, but would have given strong feedback in these areas. Joe I think the features are great, but take the customers comments to fine tune 1.9.1 ASAP. Don't break the source code, update the colors, and roll it out in a more quickly paced fashion.
Thanks.
I didn't take the time to read the other 143 negative comments - the first few were enough for me. I agere with them all - the new light blue/ gray color scheme is hard on the eyes. Hard to imagime who would have come with it. We have FIOS service in Bucks County, Pa (new TV guide) and LI, NY. LI still has the old guide ; it's much easier to read.
Also, the new guide allows you to display only subscibed channels, but you can't save the setting. It must be selected every time you bring up the guide.
HELLO:::
IS ANYONE LISTENING? THE NEW GUIDE IS A DISASTER!!!!!
iF YOU CAN'T DO BETTER THAN THIS THEN BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS ONE.
WE HAVE NOW TAKEN TO KEYING CHANNEL NUMBERS BECAUSE USING FAVORITES IS IMPOSSIBLE.
(EVERYTIME A FAVORITE CHANNEL IS CHOSEN FROM THE GUIDE YOU ARE DUMPED BACK INTO THE ALL CHANNELS MUCK.................B R I L L I A N T! )
THANKS GUYS FOR RUINING THE FIOS TV VIEWING EXPERIENCE.
AND WHILE WE'RE AT IT THANKS FOR RAISING MY RATE WHILE DIMINISHING THE QUALITY OF THE SERVICE........
After reading all the many negative comments about the guide that have been made over the last 4 months, and now seeing my own guide just changed to the new format, it seems that someone at Verizon isn't gettng the message. So let's be absolutely clear about this: THE NEW GUIDE SUCKS!! You have made something that was useful into something that is now highly annoying. I used to be able to read the guide from the furniture I sit in to watch TV. Now I have to get out of my seat and go up near the TV to try and read the information. Also the text contrast is wose which adds to the difficulty in reading it (don't use white lettering - use black on a light background). If there are some people who like the new format and you are reluctant to change it, then provide us (the apparently large majority) with the ability to select a different format that is actually useful.
You are copying the practice of Microsoft which makes formatting changes to their software just for the sake of change, without regard to human factors issues, just so they can say it is "new". They often change formats which result in worse functionality not better.
Please change it back now.
I agree. The new guide is not what I expect of Verizon FiOS. I vote for the old one back. I have the updated font size too. The guide was updated here in Maryland today.
The background color is too light. At least give the option of making it darker.
The new guide is awful. It is extremely hard on the eyes. I would expect better after you raise rates. I am seriously considering changing to Comcast.
