Not sure why Verizon charges $20/month to rent an HD DVR, when Comcast charges half that for essentially the same box with more features. (Most of the ideas coming out of this forum were in Comcast DVRs 5 years ago.)
You guys should reduce the rental price on the DVR's. It might cut down on the complaints, and the perception out there that Verizon FiOS is too expensive.
I agree. The fact that the DVR is horrible and we pay that much for it is insane. It skips all the time, never stops when you push the button. I'm really kicking myself for thinking verizon would be better than comcast. I cant wait until my contract is up.
I totally agree. I'd like to subscribe to more content, however the prices for these boxes is just too much to even consider adding anything else to my package. To be honest they should be free if you agree to sign a contract.
Thanks,
THIS PERSON MUST BE REFERENCING THE MULTI-ROOM HD DVR WHICH IS $ 19.95 A MONTH. I HAVE BEEN PAYING THIS AMOUNT FOR THE PAST FOUR MONTHS. BUT AS FAR AS I KNOW COMCAST DOES HAVE MUTI-ROOM DVRS.
Verizons equipment prices are higher across the board. The price they give you as a new customer they don't charge you for dvrs and digital boxes but that all changes after 6 months. Then you pay almost double for equipment charges as compared to comcast. I really think the only way to get your bill down is to change back and forth between the companies. Both companies have the same exact ridiculous policies. They treat new customers great but once that deal is over as a existing customer you cannot get the free equipment deal. I am going to go back and forth between the providers so that I will always be a new customer. In that way I will always get the best deal possible. What else can you do?
Learned today that if I change my 6416 to a 7232 (both HD DVRs), the rental cost for each (I have 2) goes up $3/mo. Something about being grandfathered. REALLY?! I already pay approx $200/mo for triple play, boxes etc. and you need an additonal $6/mo to give me a box that might work better than the marginal boxes I have today?
