Why doesn't FIOS offer Fox Soccer Channel and Fox SoccerChannel Plus in HD??
This idea has not been 'launched' - only half-launched, since Verizon is STILL charging $15 for Fox Soccer Plus in SD. Can you PLEASE make the Fox Soccer Plus HD issue its own, since every time it is suggested it is just closed out as duplicate, but the one you always point to for suggestion gives the indication that you've closed out the subject while only dealing with half the issue (or 1/3, if you consider GOL as part of this, too). Thanks.
I thought I'd check back to see what response I've gotten since my last posting a month ago ... aaaaannnnddd ... nothing. I don't really feel like my idea has been exchanged with anyone.
Here is my conclusion on why Fox Soccer Plus is not offered in HD...
The video signal for FOX SOCCER HD is very unreliable and often is not available for days or is very low (29) causing video disruption...or the signal is lost during LIVE matches (Premier League, FA Cup, etc.)
Note; FSC HD is included in a general HD package of all HD channels. It is not premium content....so it is easier to let the customer go to the default FSC in Standard Definition.
However, FSC PLUS is premium content (it has its own subscription price)... the SD mode is reliable. So long as they keep FSC Plus in SD mode there is no complaint about video signal strength.
FSC SD and FSC PLUS are really just the same feed. FSC HD and a FSC PLUS HD would also be the same feed just different matches. Money RULES here.... If a FSC PLUS HD channel lost it's signal like FSC HD does, then people would want their money back.
The End
FSC+ needs to be in HD, yesterday. But I have already made my feelings known on that!
I also have problems with FSC HD on one of my three televisions. Same thing with Comcast SportsNet in the Balt-Wash area. One day, when I feel like dedicating a day to it, I'll have them come out and figure out why. For now, if I want to watch something on those two stations when they are acting up, I go to another television. I assume it has something to do with the signal strength at various points along the fiber in my house.
$15 for FSP in SD is a rip-off. If verizon understood this particular market they would realize that they will lose customers over this one issue.
I would understand if FSP wasn't available in HD but it is.
All I can say is ridiculous, ridicoulos and what is the point of this blog at all. Years we are requesting FSCPlus, GOAL TV and ESPN deportes in HD. They are available with other providers but not with Verizon. Not to mention again $15 per month for something that has 1990 quality picture. My contractis expiring soon, have a great day Verizon.
i just subscribed to FS+ today assuming it would be HD (for $15/mo and being in the 1000's, why wouldn't it be?). between NHL Center Ice and now FS+ both being almost completely in SD (which also happens to be worse quality than many streaming sites by the way), i think i will be cancelling both next season and finding an online site to watch the games. to charge a premium for anything less than HD in this day in age is insane.
honestly, as i type this and i watch my pixilated, blurry Gunners struggle vs QPR, i may be calling to cancel FS+ today. why give FiOS a full month's pay for a channel they should have to pay me to watch!?
