Spam Detector suggestion

Status: Acknowledged
by Steves72camaro on ‎03-02-2012 06:48 AM
For the past several months I have received a lot of spam. It shows up every day and ALL of it comes from the .INFO domain. I have marked all of it as spam with little success. I have forwarded all of it to spamdetector.notcaught@verizon.net. That too has been a futile attempt to stop the spam. My suggestion is to add a user option to the spam detector to flag ALL emails from the .info domain as spam. You can control if detected spam is immediately deleted or sent to a spam folder. If you send it to the spam folder you could review emails to determine if too much is being flagged as spam.

Allow us to stop spam from the .INFO domain. I have zero interest in receiving messages from {edited for privacy}

That is why I gave up on my Verizon email account.  Too many spam emails and no matter what I did to block them, they kept on coming.  I don't use my verizon email account any more.  When I do sign on to check it periodically, I will have over 300 emails that are all spam.  Ridiculous.

I am the original poster and I have found a solution. Go to the web based Email page; go to Email settings; go to Filters; do Add a new Filter; Select the option "FROM", "CONTAINS" and type "INFO"; finally move it to your spam folder or if you are very certain allow the system to delete the email. I have seen no spam for 48 hours.

I'm also getting a ton of spam from the .in domain. I have a custom filter looking for ".in", but unfortunately that catches legitimate mail from, e.g. "so-and-so.investments.com". Please change the filter to allow text qualifiers like "begins with" and "ends with".

Let users use a wild card to block a domain.  For example, *@*.in would block all incoming mail.
