When I press the "Guide" button on my remote, the guide displays "All Channels".
Then, when I press the heart "Favorites" button, it displays "Favorites 1".
The problem is that I always want it to display "Favorites 1" by default (the last favorites setting I used).
Until your latest update (around 1 week ago), this worked fine. It remembered whatever favorites setting was used last and displayed that. Now, I get "All Channels" all the time and have to do extra work of pressing the "Favorites" button. This is annoying.
This is a regression, not an improvement. Please fix it.
Verizon,
Do you remember what happened to NETFLICKS when they got stupid and greedy???
Learn from their mistake!
Slow your roll.
In latest time some users experiencing problems with internet. An internet browser stops loading internet pages without any visible problem and resuming it after a few seconds. After a little investigation the problem was found. Latest versions of browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari use DNS prefetch technology which sends incorrect requests and hangs internet socket. This technology is ON by default. The solution of this problem is disable this technology. Would be good Idea include this solution into Verizon troubleshooting page. Also would be nice create a script which would be show internet improvement before and after disabling of dns prefetch technology.

I'm not sure if this issue has been previously addressed. One of the useful features for Fios Digital Voice is "Call Blocking", in order to deal with telemarketers. The problem with using FIOS's call blocking feature is that it can only be used with a full telephone # (10 digits). This method is obsolete. Telemarketers now have access to hundreds of phone #s. What is needed is a type of wildcarding where you can specify just the area code, or first 6 digits for call blocking. This would stop the telemarketers from getting through. I don't see why this would be so hard for Verizon to do. The idea of having to input 10 digits for each phone # for Call Blocking is past its time, and not keeping up with technology, which should not be the case for FIOS. .
I suspect in most households there are more than one person who watch any given show from the DVR. Where that is the case, it surely happens once in a while that a show may be deleted before all have had the chance to watch it. In other cases one might delete a show by mistake, for any number of reasons.
Something along the line of a PC's "trash bin" would allow one to return the show to viewing status, or make a final decision to completely remove all programs in the "trash bin". Any chance of something like this becoming an option?
The recent update got us half-way there: When you select the SD version of a channel that is available in HD, pressing C on the remote switches to the HD channel. But why not take it further? That is, If the STB is set to use 1080i or 720p or connected via HDMI, why not auto-map the HD version of the broadcast to both the lower and the higher channel#s? I can't think of any reason why anyone would want to watch the SD broadcast if the HD version is available. And then one could watch local HD by pressing 2, 4, 5, or 7 (etc.) rather than 502, 504 (or worse, using the clumsy Channel+C combination}.
Cablevision's HD STBs work this way - it would be nice to see FIOS do the same.
You need to update the dictionary source for e-mail spell checking, it needs to include everyday words. I hate that it finds a misspelled word but has no replacement suggestions, that I need to open my outlook express to validate if Verizon's spell check is even right to tell me that the word is misspelled.
For those that like the "golden girls" with you that program doesn't come on till 12:00AM. Then to watch "cheers" you'll be looking at 02:00 AM. WAYYYYYYY to late for people. Like Frasier?good luck with that program. Really need to check out the East feeds. Would love to move to The Terrace in Seven Hills, but can't because they won't let me put up my dish for dishnetwork. They have Fios! No can do. Just an idea for you. If not,so be it.
I currently have Time Warner and their TV system blows. They take channels away and at the same time increase pricing. It takes for ever to just change channels. Internet drops far to often. My son has Fios in the Baltimore area and his internet speed and TV Hi Def picture clarity is far far superior to TimeWarner. Please come to Upstate NY..
There needs to be a 1-click method to getting to our widgets--basically, a Widget version of the channel favorites. In addition--or by way of doing this--let us delete the default widgets that appear in the scroll.
What's the point in decreeing we can't delete the default widgets? Does Verizon think that if we're forced to have the Horoscope widget there, we'll eventually give in and look at it? If you want to put in certain ones by default, fine, but let us customzie them. The user should be able to put the Widgets they desire into the screentop scroll, and ONLY the ones they desire.
