ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO WHILE AWAY IN ALASKA I LOST MOST OF MY SIGHT. I WAS MED-EVACED BACK TO PHILADELPHIA TO WILLS EYE HOSPITAL AND OPERATED ON.
SO NOW WHAT I AM LEFT WITH IS VERY LIMITED VISION, ACTUALLY VISION IN ONME EYE ONLY AND THAT EYE ONLY SEES ABOUT 18 TO 24 INCHES AWAY. SO AS I SIT EACH DAY IN THE HOUSE WITH A 52 INCH BIG SCREEN TV ON AND ONLY REALLY LISTEN TO THE TV BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS A BLUR AND SUBTITLES ARE IMPOSSABLE FOR ME TO READ ,SO IF NO ONE IS HOME I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE SUBTITLES SAY.
I DOWNLOADED VERIZONS MEDIA CENTER BECAUSE IT SAID WATCH TV WHEN YOU WANT TO. IT TURNS OUT I CAN ONLY WATCH THINGS I RENT FROM VERIZON ON MY LAPTOP , THE MEDIA CENTER DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO WATCH WHAT YOUR TECH PERSON SAID WAS LIVE STREAMING TV ON MY LAP TOP AS I THOUGHT I WOULD BE ABLE TO.
WHY IS IT THAT WITH ALL I PAY, AND ALL THE BOXES HANGING ON THE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE, AND THE ELECTRONICS INSIDE MY HOUSE THAT WERE PLACED BY VERIZON AND THE VERIZON INTERNET THAT I USE .WHY CAN'T YOU ALLOW ME TO AT LEAST CONNECT THROUGH MY INTERNET CONNECTION SO THAT I CAN SEE A MOVIE OR TV SHOW ON THE 17 INCH SCREEN OF MY LAPTOP COMPUTER. I HAVE ALL THE CONNECTIONS ,ALL THE INTERNET CONNECTIONS, AND ALL THE PREMIUM CHANNELS , BUT I CAN'T USE THE ONE THING IN MY HOUSE THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO WATCH A TV SHOW,OR MOVIE MY LAPTOP ,SO I CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE SHOWS CLEARLY AND NOT BE A BURDEN TO MY FAMILY BY ASKING THEM TO READ THE SUBTILES THAT MANY OF THE TV PROGRAMS USE ,LET ALONE SEE CLEARLY THE PICTURE ON THE TV IF I AM NOT MORE THAN 2 FEET AWAY.
IF I AM PAYING FOR ALL THE VERIZON SERVICES WHY CAN'T VERIZON ALLOW ME TO WATCH TV ON MY LAPTOP ? ITS THE ONLY THING IN THE HOUSE THAT I CAN SIT 12 INCHES AWAY FROM AND SEE EVERYTHING CLEARLY. RIGHT NOW I AM NOT WATCHING TV I AM LISTENING TO IT. WHY CAN'T VERIZON HAVE LIVE STREAMING TV TO IT'S CUSTOMERS SO AT LEAST IN MY CASE I CAN WATCH A PROGRAM THAT I AM PAYING FOR BUT CAN'T SEE , ONLY HEAR? I WILL BE HONEST I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE UNTIL I LOST MOST OF MY SIGHT.
I AM ALREADY FEELING BAD THAT I HAVE TO ASK OTHERS FOR HELP, AND TO READ SUBTITLES, AND AM STUCK AT HOME NOW BECAUSE I CANNOT NOT DRIVE. I GUESS I SHOULD BE HAPPY THAT AT LEAST I CAN LISTEN TO THE TV EVEN THOUGH I CANNOT VIEW IT CLEARLY ( AFTER TWO FEET EVERYTHING IS A BLUR ) . VERIZON SHOPULD ALLOW ITS CUSTOMERS TO USE LIVE STREAMING TV WITH ALL THE ELECTRONICS YOU PLACE IN OUR HOMES IT SHOULD NOT BE THAT HARD TO ALLOW A PERSON TO WATCH TV ON THEIR 15 OR 17 INCH COMPUTER SCREEN.

I've been a customer of fios for over 3 years. I've never been delinquent on a bill. I hardly call customer service for anything. I heard that there is a new fios router that is GigE and 802.11N, whereas my current router is 10/100 and 802.11G...
I called to speak with a csr and was told that she could not guarantee which router was sent from the garage and that it was the V3 that I wanted. She told me that if she could, she would... But instead to try the Verizon plus store near my house and that they would swap out my old 802.11G box for the new v3 --- and would do it for free.
So I called the Verizon store near my place... They were nice and said that unfortunately they don't have these new v3 boxes yet and that I should try calling Verizon fios directly because they can help me.
So I called. He person I spoke with told me I was mistaken and that I was given bad information. That they can only swap like equipment.
Seems like each department is given different information...
Which brings me to my idea.
a) train all staff equally
B) allow your good customers... Those that have recommended your service to many many many people... Those that pay their bills. To upgrade to the latest equipment...
Why would you penalize EARLY ADOPTERS?
Why would you alienate the same people who help your NPS?
It doesn't make sense. You have a better chance of retaining me longer and having me remain a promoter much longer - which will lead to a higher ARPU.
But instead you risk losing a customer and converting me to a Detractor.
How come your program desriptons are so often incorrect or out of sync. Its becoming tiresome now. verizon will have incorrect info while the Sunday paper lists what is actually shown.
How about adding more servers (or whatever equipment is lacking) for the NY metro/Northern New Jersey area? At times, I've waited up to 30 minutes to connect to Verizon's Home Page. Sometimes, I can't connect at all. As to be expected, the problem is most prevalent around noon time, or the 4 PM to 8 PM bracket, but occasionally, it happens at 2-3 in the morning. In most cases, I'm connected to the Internet, as I can log onto another website, but I'd rather connect to Verizon's Home Page, which has direct access to my emails as well as many of the features that I like to use. The problem has been getting worse lately.
I would like to be able to see a running tally of my current (unbilled) pay-per-view usage when I'm logged into the Verizon web site. This is beneficial for people who are trying to be responsible with their finances, people who have family or room mates that may need "supervision", and people who don't get their billing statements in a timely fashion.
Several items:
For far too long verizon allows known issues to go on and on without them actually seeking to resolve things while the customer is left perperplexed as to what it is that is going on with the issues that they are having with the service. Just because verizon is aware of an issue it does not mean that they are actually going to do something about it which is extremely frustrating for someone who is looking for some assistance with trying to resolve known issues. For loyal customers who pay their bills on time at the very least what someone should expect in return for that is that they be treated in a respectful way where they are not given the runaround where they are made to believe that the issues that have been brought to verizon's attention will be resolved when in fact it will just go on and on with no end in sight to trying to find a resolution to the problems that exist. To mislead or even try to bamboozle people into thinking that a company cares when it is quite obvious that it does not is abominable. ![]()
So, I'm never home to watch the shows when they air so I SAVED a SEARCH of my Favorite shows.
'Breaking Bad' is SAVED as BAD. I run the Search feature and get different result sets:
1- while watching TV, hit the B button and it runs Saved Search 'BAD' which tells me future dates on AMC when it will be showing,
2- while watching TV, hit the OnDemand button and run Saved Search 'BAD' which AGAIN, tells me episode 1 & 2 are available. Cannot see episode 3 during the week when it aired last Sunday night at 10pm.
3- While Watching OnDemand, go through the categories for FREE -> Entertainment -> AMC and Voila!.....Episode 3 is there.
WHY do I get a different result set, the same day/time I execute the SEARCH?
Why do shows I get included in my subscription sometimes show up only as Flexview choices with a payment required?
Why should I have to pay a Flexview charge to watch a Showtime Series show like 'Nurse Jackie' on my laptop???If I go to Showtime.com I can usually watch them for FREE....just looking for convenience that is INCLUDED in my $208 monthly FIOS bill.
SPOILER ALERTS WOULD BE NICE! I have tried to avoid any news coverage of the olympics so I can watch at night and your front page COMPLETELY RUINED IT FOR ME. There was no way to check my email and avoid the headlines due to the format of your homepage.
I believe you have a queue of content that is planned to be added to FIOS TV. I would imagine there is a date also for each one when it was added to the queue. Please let customers see this queue so we have an idea of what is coming and possibly when it is coming. This may also help customers from asking for the same thing over and over again.
I'm posting a copy of my original post in fios tv programming, Anthony thought this would be a good candidate for the Idea exchange.
I'm not sure which part he thought would be good, but my concerns center around the widget I can't use, and the unavailability of a Programming Guide.
One question leads to another, starting with the Olympic interactive widget.....

Now that the Olympics are upon us whenever I land on a NBC channel the interactive widget shows up in the upper right hand corner of our screen.
I was disappointed when I clicked on it, and a info box popped on screen telling me that I needed the HD STB to view it. We have a Standard TV, and STB.
To me this is a programmers error. It should of either been made availiable to all users of Fios or programmed not to show up for owners of standard STB's.
We can order one, but will it work with a Standard TV set, so we can avoid this in the future? We do not care for HD or 3D.
Is there an added cost?
And the Olympics will probably be half over by the time we get one.
So now we have to endure it until the Olympics are over because there is no way to turn it off.
This leads to my next set of questions.
Why doesn't Vz have a listing of scheduled programming on their web site, and if they do, why is it buried so deeply that it is hard, next to impossible to find?
I was looking for show times for the Olympics, and this weekends Nascar, and F1 races, but no matter what I tried to use as a search term the results pointed me right back to the advantages of signing up for Fios service.
I did find the Fios channel lineup, but that doesn't show what's playing it just gives available channels according to one's zip code.
I did see the three year old? sticky about viewing online, then found out that doesn't work from another poster two years later, but still that's not what I wanted, and for God's sake if it doesn't work at least get rid of that sticky or edit the Admin Emitrius's original post!

So I have tried to use the FIOS Olympics widget. Might be ok, if it worked consistently.
Here's my comments:
1) Widget keeps timing out. Either when I just try and launch it or when I try and change from news to schedule. All other widgets work fine and so does VOD. Just to double check, ran In Home agent and it said network is fine.
2) Would be nice if it remembered last thing you looked at on the widget. Meaning why always default to news. I am usually looking for schedule.
3) Why does it only show NBCSN channel in widget? I could understand if they didn't want to show non-Olympics channels.
But tonight I had the TV on local NBC channel (the only channel showing Olympics). When I started up the widget, it would only show NBCSN channel in the window. Which is currently showing a MLS game. Should be able to read guide and see if selected channel is showing Olympics.
Can't imagine these issues can be corrected before Olympics end (except for maybe #1 as it could be a server issue).
So they have 2 years until Winter Olympics to get it right.
