Local Station addition to carry Lakers Basketball

Status: Launched
by jonbking on ‎08-25-2012 12:36 PM

Is Fios TV considering adding TWC SN to their local channel lineup.  They will be the sole station for all Laker Basketball Home Games.  Please consider adding TWC SN.  I would be willing to pay a little extra for this service.

Very happy to announce the channels have been launched today! Enjoy your basketball!

New Option for Fios Internet and Phone bundle

Status: Acknowledged
by TLTL on ‎08-25-2012 12:18 PM

Currently, the Fios 3/1 Mbps Internet and Phone bundle offers National calling and other features, regardless if the customers require such calling distance and features or not.

The Verizon Product Manager may want to include some options to ensure Verizon gives the customers what they need and Not what Verizon wishes to make them accept.

If the plan does not meet customer's requirement, upgrading current DSL customers will be a hard sell and unsuccessful.

Propose:  Fios Internet /Phone bundle

Offer Fios Internet 15/5 and Regional phone service with no additional feature    at the same price   as the

Fios 3/1 Internet with unlimited National calling, caller ID, forwarding etc., etc.

Remember, often the customers keep the landlines just because they can and not necessary use it for outcalling purposes.  To force National calling etc., onto these customers will be unsuccessful.

The proposed option at least offers more speed instead of forcing long distance unlimited calls etcl, on to the end user and this makes it more palatable for the customers to upgrade, especially when the infrastructure is already in place.  Once the DSL customers are upgraded and become accustom to the 15/5 speed Fios has to offer, it will be easier for Verizon to upsell them into a higher speed category and perhaps even into the Triple play.   Not to mention removing the chances of the  Verizon DSL customers going to other providers.

Sounds like a plan??

I would like to be able to block ALL email EXCEPT for specific addresses and domains I specify.  It is too annoying keeping up with dozens of daily spams when they keep using new addresses to bypass filtering.  The proliferation of new addresses makes the current spam filter and normal blocking virtually useless.  I realize the responsibility this places on the user to add the new addresses and domains they DO want to hear from.  However, that is really no different from the current advisement to add addresses and domains to ones contacts.  If the technology exists to block certain addresses, then it is a short change to do the opposite. I would also like to be able to do this with phone calls as well.  The Do-Not-Call programs can't keep up with the boiler room call centers that keep moving and changing phone numbers.  If I want to hear from someone, my phone would ring.  If I don't have their phone number entered, it would not ring.  Again, my responsibility to keep it current.  And again, no worse off than not being home and not having an answering service (as an example).  I want to take back control of the services I pay so much for.

I think that Verizon is a large enough Company to realize that they should recognize our Olympic winners.  Especially, the dedicated and talented American women and in particularly the five gymnastic young women that fought with all they had to make America champs.  They call these heroes the Fierce 5.  The captain of this team, Ms. Alexandra Raisman should be rewarded for her fierce courage in bring this ship home sailing with Olympic gold and American pride.

DVR Recording

Status: Acknowledged

Was just hooked up taoday with MR-DVR, phone and internet. So far so good. My only complaint is that you can not create series recordings from ALL the boxes (I specifically asked about this numerous times and was told YES.) and that you can not view upcoming recordings from ALL the boxes.

I suppose as technology eveloves this will be possible.

Verizon DVR Control Website Improvement

Status: Acknowledged
by Deedge on ‎08-23-2012 08:16 AM

When selecting to record a future show on the website, the current window is grayed out and a new record confirmation window appears at the top. When already scrolled down in the listing to select the show, this new window is not in sight. The user has to know to scroll back up to the top to find the window. The window parameters should be set to display in the middle of the current visible section of the window. If one scrolls up or down, the window should stay in the middle and always be visible since it is on top. This is an easy change.

Also, it would be good in the record confirmation window to allow the user to extend the recording by the 30, 60, 120 minute options. I record a lot of sports games and end up having to record multiple shows after the game to be sure that I get all of it.

Thanks -- DG

Has no one suggested this yet? Explore the possibility of Verizon offering Tivo boxes as alternative.

Maybe a licensing agreement whereby Verizon can put their log on the box but the boxes are built to Verizon's specs.

Who wouldn't want the Tivo Gui? Might be worth looking into. Offer with option to buy also. I have had the Tivo Series II box for over ten years now and am eager to buy the newer Premier box with multiple tuners. Verizon could have Tivo build in the cable card into the boxes. Their gui might also offer other opportunities for marketing and features.

Tivo lovers unite, vote up this suggestion, now!!!

Add Call Duration to Call Log tab on Calls and Messages screen on FiOS Digital Voice web page

Status: Maybe Later
by GaryLangton on ‎08-22-2012 10:50 AM - last edited on ‎08-22-2012 03:08 PM by Moderator

Currently, call duration does not appear on the 'Call Log' tab on the 'Calls and Messages' screen on the FiOS Digital Voice web page.  The call duration does appear on the 'View Call Details' section of the  'On-Line Bill' but that screen only shows the previous month's phone calls, not the current calls that are available under the Call Log tab.  Please add a CALL DURATION column to the Calls and Messages tab (/FiOSVoice/members/CallsandMessages.aspx) so that all CURRENT calls can be reviewed with the date/time AND call duration.  Otherwise, one is forced to wait for the next billing cycle to be able to see current calls.

Thanks for the idea. We'll investigate for a future enhancement.

Why can't someone develop the idea of the dvr recording when the actual show or movie starts and ends instead of just going by the scheduled time?  It seems that a lot of shows are not being recording fully because of sporting events running longer than scheduled or some other reason delaying the scheduled start time of the recordings you have set.

Control Employee Performance

Status: Acknowledged
by netcong on ‎08-21-2012 08:01 PM

Over the last year I have spent a lot of time in the Netcong area.  I am amazed at what I see re: your employees and trucks.  On many days I  see your employees and their trucks parked in the Adam's Bakery and Bagel in Budd Lake up to 9:30am.  When are these employees supposed to start work?

Recently, I  walked near the Ford dealership near Wiltop Rd., Netcong.  There were 3 trucks parked on the side of the road.  One guy was on a pole working.  One guy was in his truck reading a newspaper.  The 3rd guy was in his truck sleeping.  It was 3pm.  I don't  think they were on their own time.

Yesterday I was downtown Netcong.  3 verizon trucks parked in the Quikchek parking lot.  Coincidence? What was that a koffee klotch?

We all know labor costs have a direct bearing on phone, cable and other costs.  Who supervises these employees?  What controls do you have in place to monitor employee performance.  We don't have FIOS in Netcong and I was looking forward to it in the next 50 years but I am having my doubts re: possible costs.

Does management care?

Add Recurring Reminder Option

Status: Acknowledged
by ‎08-20-2012 05:50 PM - edited ‎08-20-2012 05:51 PM

I use the reminder feature to turn my STB to the proper channel each morning on my TV. I have the TV set to automatically come on. Would be nice to have a series type option like recording that also works for reminders.

FIOS Voice Mail User Interface

Status: Already Exists
by pjnnyc on ‎08-20-2012 08:43 AM

The FIOS voice mail system when playing voice mail messages first provides the time the message was left by the caller, not the date, so you have to waste time listening to messages you've already heard.  It would be much better if it gave the date of the message first.  Also, it is really annoying to have to listen to the full menu of options after entering your  passcode before being able to make a selection. It would be much less time consuimg if one could log in and press 1 immediately to hear messages rather than having to listen to the instructions every time.

Status: Already Exists
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. It's unlikely we would change the system to play the date before the time because of the cost to make that type of change. However, there may be a few things you can use to improve your experience. You can actually turn off the automatic time and date being played for every message. Press 4 from the main menu, then 5, and follow the prompts. You can then just play the time and date when you need to hear it by pressing 6 after you listen to a message. Also, you don't have to listen to complete instructions every time if you know the options. But there are some prompts you can't advance through. You may want to activate 'Quick Prompts' to shorten prompts (the system will give key words for the prompts instead of complete sentences). From the main menu, press 4, 1, 2 for language, and 1 for English. Then follow the prompts to select either mail or female 'quick prompts'. Check out the FiOS Digital Voice user guide found at www.verizon.com/fiosvoice for lots of additional functionality available with your voice mail.

Rewards

Why not assign letter or number codes to the phone techs.  When a customer has a good experience, they could notify Verizon at an E mail adrdess assigned for that purpose.  Every month, the votes could be counted and the winning tech could get some kind of a reward.  ( perhaps a  monetary reward.)  Everyone work harder if they get a pat on the back occasionally instead of nothing but negative complaints.

Everyone is a winner -- the technician, Verizon, and the customer!!!:smileywink:
