I am currently subscribed to High Speed Internet Enhanced and it is awful. Your service provides 1.5MB download at best which I can't understand since your wireless unit privides faster service on an iPhone. Get with the program and provide a reliable fast intenet and do me a favor, stop calling it high-speed internet. You Lie!
In the past if you watched a program previously recorded on the DVR from another TV set (with separate set top box), you had to go to the TV with the DVR to Delete the recorded program. However, there was a "bug". Unless you powered off both the DVR and the other set top box, the system would not allow the program to be deleted. Now with the latest upgrade, when you watch a program from the non-DVR set top box and then go back to the DVR, you have to start at the beginning of the show, not where you left off. But you can now delete the program without powering off both the DVR and the other set top box. I can think of several different wonderful ways to fix this, at a minimum, allow programs to be "resumed" no matter where the programmed is being accessed from and deleted from the DVR. The other possibility is to hire some quality assurance people that know how to write proper test plans based on the specs and really do all of the tests and all of the tests pass before the software upgrades are released.
We all have extra A/V inputs on our Motorola cable boxes for game inputs. Motorola says your service provider decides whether or not to activate them.
Here's my idea: Activate Them.
It would make life SO much easier for us if we could plug in our Wii/Playstation/XboxVideo Camera/whatever and expect it to work.
I don't care if you don't provide customer support for external devices, just don't prevent me from using them if I want to. I would even be willing to pay a small surcharge and sign an agreement not to ask you how to play/win/cheat at at Call of Duty.
C'mon, how bout it? Why aren't they active?
Now whether people are aware of this or not there are a whole bunch of websites that are out there that have the personal and supposedly private information of people that should not be made available to anyone. Verizon claims that they do not disclose or even make available any of this to anyone but it is very interesting to see how all of the information that has been provided to verizon is all automatically made available for people to see. Many of these websites make it seem as if you have actually signed up for an account with them to allow this information to be made public and it is somewhat disturbing to see how much is out there. Websites like mylife, whitepages, intellius, and 411 info have so much inside information that has not been provided to them by the people whose personal info is public that it is a dangerous game that is being played with people's personal info. Anyone out there who wants to ascertain this information will have your name, home address, home phone, email address and a map as to how to find your home that could lead to something unfortunate happening to someone. Privacy advocate groups should do everything that they can to prevent this from continuing because this kind of information being made available for everyone to see is not a good thing. If you think that your personal info is private think again. Google your name and see for yourself how much info there is that is out there about you which includes how someone can get directions to your home.
CenturyLink offers their residential customers a FREE option to have all calls intercepted with a message saying that the number they called does not accept telemarketing calls, and to remove the number from their call list. All other callers are asked to press 1, which then connects the call.
If CenturyLink can offer this service, why can't Verizon??? This simple tool would stop all those automated, and very annoying, telemarketing calls.
I do not understand why Verizon would have RFD tv on the lowest and highest tiered package, but not the middle.. it just doe not make sense. Just checked directv's package.. and RFD is available on ALL or fheir packages.
This pdf url which was a top Google Result claims it has it on 247--note that it says extreme (which I have) includes all Prime channels--but it doesn't.
Surely this is an oversite that you want to fix

Compared to Dish, Fios is so cumbersome in the tv program recording area. I've found lots of ways things could be easier. First of all the Original Air Date should be listed on the first INFO screen without having to go into sub screens to locate it. Secondly recording series which have optional air times is almost impossible. ie Breaking Bad on AMC reshows it's New episodes again around 1am, 3am etc. Only when you look at the exact time these shows are starting on the info screen it may be 1:02am or 3:04am, then the next week Breaking Bad will begin at perhaps 1:03am and 3:02am. No consistency in starting times from week to week. Fios won't let me record a series unless the starting time is exactly the same each week. Somehow Dish was able to do this very easily. Also Dish had a great feature...you could be viewing a program, looking at the name of that program in the guide or anywhere that program could be located by your remote, and with the push of one button at the bottom of the Dish remote it would give you a screen telling you all of the different times that show was on tv and if it was New or a Rerun, etc. Great feature when doing a lot of recording of multiple shows. I dropped Dish because of their dispute with AMC, but the work that goes into recording programs with Fios is really making me question my decision.
It's great that I can get an audio file sent as an email when I get a new voicemail. But after listening to the audio file, deleting the email does not remove the voicemail so I still have to access the voicemail service via my phone or TV to really delete it.
Implementing the voicemail box as an IMAP mailbox would solve this. I could access this mailbox via my mail reader and directly delete voicemails. Your telephone and TV interfaces would of cousre also need to be changed to use IMAP instead of whatever properietary protocol you use today.
I hope you will consider this idea for the (not so distant) future.
Please, please, please bring your services to south central Pennsylvania. Specifically 17543 lititz pa. We are in dire need of FIOS.
Stop contacting me with bill payment e-mails. I just received the second one of the day. My bill is due on August 27. Today is August 8. Stop sending me annoying, pestering bill payment notices.
I would like to see standard and high def channels numbered sequentially in the guide (ie Showtime standard def #365 and the same channel in high def as #366 or 365-1), The user could then select the guide option of showing subscribed channels, and the option of removing duplicate channels when in high def. For example, Showtime has channels that are not available in high def, but in the guide the high and standard def channels are hundreds of channels apart. They should be right next to each other in the guide that way if the channel is only available in standard def it would still be grouped with the other Showtime high def channels in the guide. Also, I would like the feature of setting reminders for series, now you have to manually set a reminder for each future viewing in the series, or set it to record with the DVR. If you applied the same options for series in the reminder menu as in the DVR menu that would be great.
Dear Verizon,
I subscribe to FiOS TV and the Korean programming package. Channels MBC - 1760, YTN - 1761, and SBS - 1762.
Can you swap the 2 channels YTN and SBS? YTN is the 24 hour news channel; MBC and SBS are drama channels. Needless to say, I watch MBC and SBS, but not much SBS. Because I have to skip YTN to switch between MBC and SBS, I lose the ability to rewind using my FiOS DVR. I can switch between MBC and SBS directly, but takes 4 button pushing effort while a channel up and down is simpler.
Also, wouldn't it make sense to arrange the Korean channels in alphabetical order: MBC, SBS, and YTN.
Not a sermon, but just a thought. Thanks for listening.

I have a complaint about Emergency Alert System (EAS) messages overriding my normal FIOS TV service when a warning (usually a tornado warning) is not for my county. The National Weather Service (NWS) provides Universal Geographic Codes (UGC) with their warnings so that it can be routed by EAS to just those counties needing a warning. I know something about this since I am a retired NWS employee that worked on the UGC project and other EAS issues many years ago. I live in Montgomery County MD. This evening, the following warning (copied below) interrupted my TV service with the following message that did not include Montgomery County MD. This is not the first time this has happened. Please send EAS messages only to your customers in counties that are actually under a warning. That is what NWS UGC codes are for (which appear on the line below "TORNADO WARNING."

There are three of us that are being disrupted by this. Get More Road Techs.
This has to be the stupidest feature ever! Hmm.. OK they go options and setup the channel listing to the mode they want.. They use C to go to HD channel of same channel. Hmm.. Let's make C disable the mode that they just spent time setting.
I have to ask what was the engineer smoking when they thought of this one? There is no way anyone with any common sense could of thought of such a stupid thing to do than share same button when there is let's see an A, B, and D pretty much unused. They had to be smoking something.
First of all I spent time going into modes to set it WHY WOULD I WANT A SINGLE BUTTON TO DISABLE THE MODE??? Secondly why would you share that same button with one of the MOST COMMONLY USED BUTTON FEATURES???
This needs fixing my mother is always forever pressing C to watch channel in HD than can't figure out how to get back to just the channels she watches because she is 75 years old and can't remember this. Seems like anytime company watches TV they will press C thinking it is saying HD channel and end up turning off subscribed channel mode! This is a MAJOR FLAW DESIGN!
Like most answering machines, mine is set to answer a call after the fourth ring. I have noticed that most telemarketing robo calls, political surveys, and charities tend to hang up after the third ring. I suspect that they do this to avoid paying for a call that goes to an answering machine.
My suggestion is to add an option to let the caller hear three or four rings before the call is ever put through. This would virtually eliminate nuisance calls at meal time.
I have to try several times a month to try and make a payment online because the site is always "experiencing difficulties". Then Verizon has the nerve to charge a late fee when you are late because you couldn't pay your bill on-line for days. And if you are a business customer good luck finding the sign on page for a business customer to pay your bill. After trial and error several times you will finailly find a place to hit for if you are a business customer. One would think that if a business was trying to sell internet services that that would have one of the better use-friendly, up-to-date sites out there , instread of one of the worts that is down all the time.I think I will now use my time research alternative services instead of watesing my time each month trying to pay my bill.
When a customer pays their bill the services should be restored right away instead of services being off for the whole weekend and waiting until Monday!!!
I would like to submit a complaint to customer service, however your site keeps bouncing me around and never offers the opportunity to email a complaint. So I am forced to do it on a community forum.
Phone lines are down, and I had to schedule a repair. You can't get a human being on the phone to discuss it. They expect you to commit to being home from 8AM-6PM, and won't give you a more specific time. Other utiiity companies give you a 2-3 hour window of time. Who is home without obligations from 8 to 6 these days? But I need my phone service back. So I am forced to schedule a day and hope that the repair person arrives when I am home, which will be on and off throughout the day. If I knew when they were coming, I could shift things around to make sure I am here. But I can't do that. Already I am very frustrated with the Verizon voice mail service because at least half of my messages get cut off, and I've had no resolution to this problem with the suggestions offered by tech support. This service issue doesn't help make me feel warm and fuzzy about sticking with Verizon.
I was approached by a guy named Dave at Best Buy in Newark,he offered me phone and internet with comcast double play, I asked verizon to match it and they said no, phone and internet at comcast for 34.99 a month before tax's of course. Tell Verizon to change and match it before they loose customers.
I have my e-mail forwarded into Outlook Express. However, when I go to the web for my e-mail account, which I do regularly to delete e-mail, I am given a choice to label a message (or several) as "spam." I do so mark a number of e-mails as spam, i.e., anything from {edited for privacy} Marking it as spam should automatically add the ema of the sender into the blocked senders list. Otherwise, it's a multiple step process to add an ema manually.

I stream my computer to my tv to watch shows record om my computer./ Some formats dont work. Make DVR more compatible to video formats
I recently discovered that you assume that a Cell phone is the primary number desired for contact on regular FIOS residential accounts. Not sure if this is also true for other types of Verizon accounts. Definitely wasn't always so.
In my case I just did a FIOS upgrade, and was surprised to find the calls about the upgrade kept coming to my Cell phone. I am retired, and no longer use my cell phone much, even keeping it off for long periods of time. I almost missed the calls having to go fetch my cell phone when I heard it ringing.
The way the customer profile is setup you push for the cell phone to be entered, even assume that it supports SMS (mine is blocked for SMS). And if the cell phone is entered you use that for primary contact. You no longer have a space for primary or home phone, and only use the alternate number, if entered, for secondary contact. Only way I appear to have to get my home phone called, is to enter NONE for cell phone and my home phone as alternate phone number.
